Or will global industrial civilization be stopped, preventing runaway climate change from destroying the bioshpere and the human population be reduced allowing Terra's remaining intact ecology to begin regenerating allowing people return to the sane and wholesome existence offered by agrarianism and or hunting and gathering?

It may be quite possible that we are in the worst period of time that humans will ever experience.
