it is really fun but I quite tell if the ending was a happy one or not. without saying what happened I really was not sure what was Max's emotional state was at the end.
yea, I found them all by accident. there are 3 of them.Grape_Bullion said:Has anyone found the "tourist locations" by chance? Or even know what they are?
Ahh, so thats what they are. I've run into him twice so far, ill look out for the last timechuckey said:yea, I found them all by accident. there are 3 of them.Grape_Bullion said:Has anyone found the "tourist locations" by chance? Or even know what they are?
they are locations where you talk to this random guy, they are pretty funny. I'll give you a hint...
the first one is behind a door with a green handle in the night club section.
Is there something you have to do once you talk to him? I've met up with him three times, but the only implication I was on vacation was the airport.chuckey said:yea, I found them all by accident. there are 3 of them.Grape_Bullion said:Has anyone found the "tourist locations" by chance? Much appreciated. Do you know, or anyone else know for that matter, if switching from free aim to hard lock will affect the ability to get the old school achievement/trophy? I'm not even sure if it will help me, just beyond stuck on chapter 11 and wondering if hard lock is actually helpful in that dumb gunfight on the side of the yacht with the guys on the dry dock.chuckey said:ohh wait I forgot there are actually 5.Grape_Bullion said:Is there something you have to do once you talk to him? 3 are with that fat guy and two are with this other dude. the second guy shows up in a strip club in sao paulo and again during a prison section.

I'm not sure about that specific achievement, but I switched from soft lock to free aim during the game and I was till able to get some of the free aim achievements/trophies with out a problem.Grape_Bullion said:Much appreciated. A BIG part of the Max Payne series is slow-mo bullet time. It's always been. The trailers probably showing that off.usmarine4160 said:I didn't like the commercials... the new one shows an Uzi firing but it's firing like 3 times between each shell ejecting![]()
For a game that is based around a cinematic experience, I think "riddled" is a strong word. I do agree, not being able to skip them is butts. Max's dialogue gets old, but in a game about socioeconomics it's necessary. Laser pointers are dumb even in real life, I don't know how they made them worse, but they found a way. Personally never had a problem with finding the little white dot, but I'm sure you're not alone in the complaint.Casual Shinji said:I guess I'll have to be the jerk here, because I found Max Payne 3 rather mediocre.
The game is riddled with cutscenes wich you can't skip because the game takes forever to load. Even the frikking main menu has a load screen. As for the cutscenes, the fluorescent flickering and dialoge pop-ups were a cheap way to make the narrative seem more interesting than it actually was.
The dialoge and Max's monologe was heavy-handed drivel; Seriously, the amount of times you hear Max utter "shallow rich people, blah, blah, blah" got so fucking aggravating. I know this is typical noir writing, but for Christ's sake, lighting the fuck up. It got to a point were Max came across as a whiny know-it-all teenager, and I just wanted him to shut up.
The shooting action was fun, but spotting your targeting retacle during bullet time was annoying. And trying to aim any weapon with a laser sight was torturous. The slow-mo kill cam was fucking badass though; Seeing my final victim take 3 shotgun blast in the face in slow motion never gets old.
Ultimately this game was just okay...-ish.
I couldn't agree with you more about the laser sight. I just hated that weird angle they gave you to shoot with because you couldn't tell where you were shooting. If i had the option I would always try to find the same gun with out laser sightsCasual Shinji said:The shooting action was fun, but spotting your targeting retacle during bullet time was annoying. There were plenty of moments were the game could've added gameplay, because there wasn't anything going on except Max walking toward something while inner-monologing. You're not even allowed to climb a simple ladder without the necessity of a cutscene.Grape_Bullion said:For a game that is based around a cinematic experience, I think "riddled" is a strong word. The problem is that the game takes itself so uber serious. If this dialoge was presented in a slightly campy, Dick Tracy sort of manner it could've added some charm, but its no nonsense attitude instead made it come across as forced.Max's dialogue gets old, but in a game about socioeconomics it's necessary.
I guess I expected a bit more from this new installment apart from "same ol', but with current graphics."Laser pointers are dumb even in real life, I don't know how they made them worse, but they found a way. "I GUESS WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY IS" your views are valid, but a little heavy handed. In my opinion.
