In retaliation, my COD4 tips:

1. Take MP5.

2. Take Stopping Power and Steady Aim.

3. Spray from hip and kill things in 2 bullets at nearly every distance.

Though to be fair, I just personally preferred Black Ops because it had more funny / gimmicky weapons like the tomohawk, shooting knives, and the crossbow, and it didn't have stopping power. I always played for the silliness, guess that's just me. Sometimes when I did well playing with the normal guns and stuff it was pretty damn good, shame I was shit.
Yeah, the MP5 was pretty beastly in the right hands.

If Black Ops didn't have the atrocious hit detection issues and Second Chance, it would probably be my favourite COD too. I just hate that everyone sits in corners nowadays instead of rushing around. Stupid kill:death ratio stat ruined everything.

I'm with you on the wacky weapons though, those are crazy fun in private lobbies.
Yeah, it was pretty bad sometimes, that's generally what made me go for the silly weapons. I stopped playing after awhile after the corner mentality set in. Second Chance is a really nice idea, it just isn't so well executed when in a very twitchy game it gives a good 1 second invulnerability on the way down....

10) It was a great shot, but putting it up on YouTube is probably a little excessive, no?
But how else can I express my deep love for shooting people/listening to Linkin Park/making videos in Movie Maker? :D

Mine?

1) Check the corners. Always.
2) Learn routes. Let other, more experienced players go first, then follow them.
3) Don't be afraid to spectate players. You can usually pick out which player on a server is dominating, spectate them and see how they play.
4) A tactic is only "cheap" if you've just been killed by it.
5) Everyone starts off crap, they got to the level that they're at by playing more. Don't give up.

For Demon's Souls:

1. Have your shield raised.
2. Don't run.
3. Check your corners.
4. Rolling > blocking.
5. Make sure you have a bow and arrows.
Dark Souls Alternate:
1. When you get to Undead Burg, POWER GRIND TO USE BAD ASS WEAPONS / SHIELDS!
2. Try to fight boss.
3. Fail
3.5: Win and progress
4. Keep power leveling and just level what your class is unique to use.
4.5: Be careful.

Thats only for starting area, generally, your tips are good, but remember, if you are a mage / pyro guy, use spells secondarily to your regular weapon, save a lot of deaths.

For starting in Maple Story:
1. Choose a story.
2. Level by grinding start guys, this will help you gain more levels then needed to progress, giving you slight edge.
3. Purposely take any dropped items, anything they didn't pick won't hurt them.
4. Complete all quests *do this for all MMOs* in every town, you'll thank your EXP bar later.

If you're gonna buy a multiplayer game, find a forum dedicated to gaming or that specific game and find out if other people still play it too. I just blew 35 dollars on Bad Company 2, so I know from experience it's a bad idea to blindly buy multiplayer games older than six months or so.

Other than that, here's one for if you've just discovered Touhou and you're finding it too hard:

1. Most of those bullets won't go anywhere near you. Stop panicking every time more than 25 appear at once. That'll help a lot.

2. Use the Shift key as often as possible, and pay attention to the glowing circle that appears when you do. That's your hitbox. That's the only part of your character sprite vulnerable to damage.

2.5. On that subject, if you're just starting out, always always always use Reimu over anyone else. Smaller hitbox means less chance of anything hitting you, and although slow doesn't sound good, she won't go further than you meant to.

3. Despite what some more enthusiastic fans might tell you, it's totally okay to play on Easy. (<--Started on, and always plays on, Normal)

3.5. You get continues for a reason. Use them; it'll help you memorise further bosses, not to mention further plot developments. After you beat a game once, though, if you were let down by the ending, that's when it's time to move up to a harder level/stop continuing.

4. I shouldn't have to say this, but practice makes perfect. After you get some patterns, the location of the hitbox and

1. Read the manual. Thoroughly. And do the tutorials.

2. Do not ask anyone for anything that you can do for yourself with a little work and effort.

3. Do not use hacks or cheat codes.

Other than that, game on.

In Rage:

-Mutant levels should be played like Doom (Run and gun with a shotgun)
-Drive explosive RC cars into doors if you know enemies are going to come out.
-Accelerate and brake to make a sharp turn when racing, then use your boost.

I'd imagine most people already do this, though.

Everything:

- Check the damn controls before playing multiplayer.

It never ceases to amaze me that people don't do this. I am sick of having to tell them which button to press to turn on their flashlight.

For Fallout (can be applied to both 1 and 2)

1. Save

2.Use all 10 Save slots

3. Use a mod to grant more save slots!

4. Make a charater build you are going to stick with, without it, you may get stuck 20 hours in

5. NEVER GO SOUTH TO START WITH! (Not without tons of saves)

6. Never trust anyone.
Also, use your tag skills so that your character can a) fix broken machines b) fix broken computers and c) fix broken people. Skilled and Gifted are a good trait combo to give your character a running start to break through the difficult lower levels.

OT: For any online multiplayer: Train yourself up (gradually, a bit at a time) to use the highest x/y sensitivity settings. You may think when playing CoD (for example. Feel free to replace with 'Halo' or 'TF2' if you like) that using 'Medium' (2/10) sensitivity is good enough, but people who have trained up to 'Insane' (10/10) sensitivity will be able to literally run rings around you.

Pretty much this; I really miss the good times of CoD4; none of the games since have been remotely as fun.

Fallout: New Vegas -
1)Take anything that isn't nailed down, but avoid pickpocketing if possible; a good number of the NPCs seem to be omniscient to when you're rifling through their clothes, even when asleep, and you're in the shadows, and have 100 Sneak, and using a Stealth Boy, and you're stealing an item that's worth a cap, or maybe none. And I mean take EVERYTHING. Vendors restock regularly, so waiting for them to have caps again isn't too much of a problem.
Whilst doing this don't worry about Karma; its rather meaningless, save for ending movies. Its pretty easy to steal most objects when people aren't looking; a good number have a lot of stuff in their houses that they rarely ever see/visit, so you may have liberal time to loot.
2) Get your Barter skill high early on and sell all the stuff you've looted; just don't forget you can't sell it back to the person you stole it from or to their friends. Buy weightless items and sell weighted items if they lack money. Make sure you have generous supplies of medication, especially stimpacks
3) Get a Luck attribute of 7 or Higher and then and go and rob all the Casinos; this will also make you extortionate amounts of money. It will take you about an hour to make 34,000 caps this way ;)
Alternatively, pick on the Legion, because they are the weaker of the two main factions, and slaughter them, horde their stuff and make ludicrous amounts of money. The Fort and Cottonwood Cove alone will net you a nice amount of caps.
The Vaults are also good sources of money, just don't forget Vault 34 is a bit dangerous...
4) Use your money to by Implants from the Followers clinic. Also use it to get ammo if need be.
5) Avoid Deathclaws and Cazadors till you have decent levels in your primary weapon skills. If you can't kill it, you can usually outrun it unless its one of those two. Apply ammunition generously on both.
6) Avoid Hardcore until you know the ropes.
7) Never go North until you've passed through Nipton and have went round the bottom of those mountains; otherwise you will probably die.
8) Powder Gangers, Fiends, Jackals and Vipers are very, very, very easy sources of revenue; the last two especially as they have radiation medicine and stimpacks often and grant generous amounts of 10mm ammo and weapons from an early stage.
9) VATS is not a good crutch; it will fail you either through somehow making all your shots miss at point blank or against certain enemies or it will crash.
10) If you're going to make videos about it, don't, please don't record them with your phone or camcorder wavering at a screen.

Congratulations, you have made Fallout: New Vegas one of the easiest games around.

Also...

11) Keep large supplies of anti-venom, unless you are REALLY sure you can either notice and kill all Cazadores before they reach you, or you can put up with the poison effect and 'tsss' noise without dying/going mad IRL.

12) Don't, I say again, DO NOT attack Vulpes Inaculta and kill him prior to reaching Vegas. If you do then a detail of Legion assassins will reach you before you get to a safe location. From killing Vulpes numerous times I have been attacked at: The road close to Rngr Stn Charlie, Further down that road, Mojave outpost (pretty much everyone there died), NoVac (everyone died) and even the plains between the 188 and McCarran. They are very hard to kill, carry awesome but hard to re-supply weapons, are very hard to kill, can rapidly kill any friendly NCR Troopers (a six man section died in 5 seconds without killing one of the 4 man assassin detail) and are very hard to kill.

13) Watch out on the 'Mojave Outpost/Nipton' stretch of highway on your trip to Vegas because at the ruins of the house you will be attacked by what could be your hardest game encounter thus far (Grenades, automatic weapons and not much useful loot).

14) If you really need to get to the North quickly then hug the cliffs on Black Mt. and try to get onto a ladge/crawl along at a point half-way up. Sneak the whole way and when you get to the end just wait and try to avoid any 'Claws which noticed you. That can go either way, but I managed it and got to NV at level 2.

Tips for Final Fantasy 6:

1. Remember that all citizens have gone senile and store their good liqueur in their clocks.

2. It doesn't help to stockpile said liqueur for rough times, use that shit.

3. Physics be damned, if a train is barreling towards you, suplex it!

4. And finally...

Entirely forgot to mention some of those; you're right though; hoard anti-venoms and don't piss off the Legion (or the NCR) till you have decent weapons and armour.

A couple of pointers for KOTOR:
1) Never start out as a Scoundrel unless you are experienced or sadistic.
2) If you'd like the later parts of the game to be easier, don't level past 4 on Taris and only continue levelling once you become a Jedi; DO NOT start out as a Scoundrel and then become a Consular; that is a combination that will get you killed. A lot. Unless you have ridiculous skill.
3) Don't try and fight a full-grown Rancor
4) Don't try and fight a Krayt Dragon
5) Don't play Tower of Hanoi unless you know what you're doing
6) Don't through an incendiary device into acid
7) Don't look in the box
8) Don't try to box the sharks
9) Ignore the robots, break the terminals
10) Malak is a brick; kill all the Jedi corpses first.

For MMOs in general:

1. At first don't take advice, including this one. Explore the game and the world on your own while the magic is still there. When you are ready for it, take all the advice you can get and don't forget second opinions.

2. Try everything at least once. People find their own playstyles and types of content that they enjoy, but everyone needs to try it before they know if they will enjoy it.

3. Unless you play WoW, don't mention WoW in a public chat. In general be careful about discussing other MMOs. Most MMO players are very protective about their favorite game.

4. When picking a class, specialization, skill, profession etc. don't assume there is a best choice. Choose something that seems to fit you, instead of looking for the best option.
In a perfect MMO world every long term choice should be viable, but in practice some are not. Therefore be prepared to change your decision later.

5. Remember that dying can be fun, and failure is a part of every game. The only way to win an MMO is by not playing. The only way to have fun in an MMO is to fail sometimes. Whether you are in a group or alone, laugh at your mistakes and your incompetence. And remember to be friendly to others when they fail.
