Normally I'd say Bioshock, Red Dead Redemption, and Mass Effect 2, but I've praised those too much. I'll do more personal ones that aren't as universally praised this time.
#3: Guitar Hero III
#2: Super Paper Mario
#1: BRUTAL LEGEND!!!!!!!

1. Goldeneye
2. Fallout 3
3. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin

Hitman would get second placing, but for some reason, Fallout 3 is just so awesome :D

1.) Chrono Cross
2.) Psychonauts
3.) Tales of the Abyss
Good taste!
Why thank you! Professing my love for Chrono Cross usually gets me evil stares among gamers IRL.
Fuck them, it has a better story, characters, gameplay, music, setting, need I go on? neither of them are great works of art by any stretch of the imagination, but Chross is definitely superior, despite plot holes.

1. Morrowind
2. Diablo 2
3. Star Ocean (the whole series)

1. I pick Morrowind for number 1 because I have spent over 400 hours on it with just 3 characters. I still don't think I have been everywhere on the map yet exploring, something I could not say for Oblivion. Oblivion felt like too much of the game revolved around the main quest and didn't really care about the side missions which are what made your characters and experience unique in Morrowind.

2. I played this game for over 10 years I found creating characters gearing them out and then testing them against other people to be so much fun. Admittedly the game did go down hill after 1.10 when all the classes started to get alittle cookie cutter in design. You use these skills with these items and you win. (though that did end up making it so the player with more skill would generally win the fight it just wasn't quite as much fun.)

3. I really really enjoyed the combat in Star Ocean throw in a pretty decent plot in at least most of the games and it makes for alot of fun. I liked unlocking new techniques finding and adding new members to my team to see whose skills complimented eachother the best. Then also after you beat the game they have several end game dungeons of ridiculous difficulty to further challenge you almost like doing a raid in WoW where you control all of the members in real time. Plus the item creation with synthisis and duplication in The Last Hope was alot of fun to mess around with to try and create the ultimate items. (The Last Hope otherwise was the biggest disappointment in the series at least storywise and voice acting)

Crono Trigger
Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn (Not the expansion, it kinda blew in my opinion)
Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition (as long as one ignores Leliana's Song and pretends it never happened)

As you can see, I'm a big fan of RPGs. I included Crono Trigger because it's the only game I've ever finished more than twice, and it was my first JRPG. Still the best JRPG I've ever played, probably the best game I've ever played (/rose tinted glasses and bias).
