At the moment, my top five list is (but not in order)
Halflife 2: I don't really have to justify this, right? Sound = perfect. Atmosphere = perfect. Characters = perfect. Pacing = perfect.
Bioshock 2: I really loved the personal story it told. So refreshing after saving the world for the thousandth time.
Arcanum: steampunk RPG that could sorely use a remake... beautiful game.
Homeworld; Cataclysm: a horror game/RTS? What? But it works SO WELL, and the voice actors get really into it as things get desperate.
Thief 2: Garrett and Karras. 'Nuff said, surely. The world, and the way the story is told, is just fantastic.
