A friend of mine in middle school, so this is from when I was about nine (ten years ago?! Christ on a bike). He informed me, through interpretive dance and Shakespearean soliloquy, that I really ought to try this new fad by the name of RuneScape. Being a young and impressionable lad in a city too big for my worn scarves and urchin's boots, I took his word for it and set to work at becoming a scaper of runes, as was the fashion for a little scamp like myself. I had heard that this friend, when under the guise of noble adventurer, went by the username of 'Snappy Dog' (I seem to remember that Runescape required characters to have two words in their names back then, don't know if that's still the case). I, being somewhat less than the brightest star in the never-ending and hopeless void, decided that I too would take the name of Snappy Dog. And so, I began my journey into the realm of runes and scapes as nary more than a poor imitation of the one who had lured me to this strange world.
Turned out he'd misspelled it and was 'Snapy Dog'. So I've used the correct spelling for everything ever since.
But I don't play Runescape any more. That was a bad move.
