My original idea for writing this thread was to ask you, the escapist community, when you feel your weakest. I.E. when you're showering, or stood in a field. Basically when you feel at your most vulnerable.

Then another idea hit me as i began writing, what has been your exact moment where you felt completely and utterly feeble, where you feel you cannot fight the challenges before you?

Suppose i should go first, get the ball rolling and what-not.

I feel at my most vulnerable when i'm getting changed. Like that thin layer of cloth would actually defend me from anything i'd need defending from really.

Then my weakest moment was just the other day. I lost all my coursework off my memory stick, and being the dumbass i am i didn't have any back-ups. So here i am trying to salvage everything and restore the work i'd lost already and it all felt way too much like i couldn't go on with it.

When my dad died. I was still a young teenager then and he was a pretty big inspiration in my life. What's worse is that I didn't hurt and I didn't cry. Hell, just couldn't... feel. I was completely numb to the point where I couldn't do anything and I couldn't think at all.

Also, it was pretty sudden, so chances are the majority of it was the shock from hearing about it.

I always feel very vulnerable if I have headphones on in public. I can't hear anything, and sometimes I'm worried I'm gonna not hear a car coming.

As for a specific moment, there was this one time back when I was applying to high schools, and got five rejection letters in one day, I really felt like a failure, especially because I knew I got rejected because of a crappy score on the math ISEE.

Anytime a phobia really hits me, my anxiety takes over and I just lose it. There was an incident with leeches. It wasn't fun. I panicked for like half an hour, then calmed down. Basically, any time I feel out of control.

Probably whenever i get asked a question while i'm thinking about something

It takes about 5 secs for me to notice someones talking to me and i should actually say something, another few seconds trying to remember what they asked me and finally answering it in the shortest amount of words before going back to thinking. I don't like the expectant look they give me...

I've yet to experience complete helplessness in my life, but there is a very specific situation I find myself vulnerable in.

Water.

I'm a fair swimmer. Good stamina and all that jazz, but when I'm out swimming in the sea, more specifically foreign seas I get frightened. When I can no longer see the ocean floor, I get the feeling that at any given moment something horrible might surprise me and bite my leg off or worse.

Damn you, Discovery Channel and all your shark shows!!

The moment where I felt my absolutely weakest and most pathetic was...actually that's REALLY personal and kind of horrible.

so i'll go with the 2nd worst time: the first time I heard my mum crying. she was locked in her room crying, and i just knew it was my fault but i was too dumbstruck to do the logical thing to do which was apologise.
