Your world falls apart

What if the world as you know it falls apart before you? I'm not talking about the end of the world but rather a catastrophe of some sort such as war or natural disaster left your home in ruins. Everyone (or almost everyone) you knew are now dead, cities lay in ruins or are in disrepair, and the things you once knew and held dear to you are no longer feasible. How would you react in this type of situation and would you continue to stay in your home to rebuild or would you move away in hopes of finding a new start?

I would personally move around, seeing that there isn't much point to stay. I would probably stay in my country even if the whole country is in ruin but move around from place to place until I find what I am looking for.

My fantasy-prone personality would kick in and I'd be gone. Maybe forever.

I guess I would try to see the world. You know, the last few buildings that survived and other great monuments that humanity has built. Maybe try to settle down if I could find a town of sorts. More likely than not, I would die without ever doing anything major to the world. But I would enjoy what little time I had left.

Hmn. I'd probably attempt to round up anyone I knew. My girlfriend's family if they were alive, my own. Then rebuild. Tough it out. Wandering wouldn't solve much, I gather. Unless it was impossible to sustain oneself in the current location.

I hold no illusions. I'd probably die.

It would depend on how many of my friends and family survived. If some of them did, we would rebuild. If not, I don't really know what I would do, but it would not likely be constructive. My sin is wrath after all.

I would do whatever I wanted to. I would stop caring about the long-term. With everyone I knew dead I would be tied down, with no home I would have any mortgage or rent. If money was still worth anything I'd sell off everything I own and go traveling for the rest of my life. Visiting other every other country with online friends I never had the chance to meet before.
Once my money/food etc runs out I go to the nearest bit of surviving civilization and tapdance to my certain death.
