For me its final fantasy:crystal chronicles:Echoes of time.
I wanted a normal final fantasy game with turnbased combat.Instead i just got this putrid pile of shit with frustrating puzzels and annoying combat system.

So whats yours?

Expecting life to be fair as a child. ; w;

OT: Are we talking about disappointments in the video game world, or life as a whole?

In video games, I gotta go with FF:CC, the first game of the one the OT said. It was boring for one person, and it's not like they had online.

Biggest disappointment... I'd say Uncharted 2. I just don't understand the hype. Maybe it's because I didn't play the first (but the gameplay would still be fun, right?), but I just didn't get it. Plus I think I hit a borderline-game-breaking cutscene-bug or two. Wow, that was annoying.

Call of Duty 3. I was young and restless and loved the first two and didn't realize they were done by two different developers. It was shit, and I can never forgive Treyarch for it. Never.

Well, screw you too mate

For me it would have to be Robot Warlords. I bought the game expecting giant robots beating the crap out of each other, but what I got was an immensely complicated turn based game with even more immensely long cutscenes.

That's what I get for buying on the spur of the moment.

I are biggest dissapointment? :(

I haven't really been dissapointed by games that much. But I felt Mirror's Edge was in need of some improvement. Like the story: Either don't have a story at all, or F**KING ClARIFY! And a lot of the game was set in corridoors and tight spaces. Not good for free-running.
EDIT:
I was also a bit dissapointed by Daybreakers. Mostly becasue Bob hyped it up a lot more than it was worth. But I understand, I mean, the man had just seen "New Moon"...

Maxis's Spore game is still one of my biggest "smacks in the balls", though keeping track of the game's updated information to it's release since it's announcement didn't help much to calm my high-standards.

I guess I was expecting some perfected life-simulator, creating and interacting all of the different species of my choice that I could interact in one spectacular ecosystem, having them all battle and evolve in unison to even greater flaunts of fancy and opprotunity. While that was still present, I didn't expect a linear cut-down-to-underpants version that greatly resembled the styles of three other games I could mention held together by a string.

Oh well, back to Sim City 2000.

About 12 years ago, I would have said Event Horizon. That movie messed with my head.
Oh, yeah, that too. That was disappointing, maybe because someone told me it was utterly awesome.

This misuse of "Your".

Oh wait.

Game wise, FarCry 2. Mostly because it would have been an alright game if a few obvious errors were fixed and a brilliant game if the problems were fixed and the narrative wasn't a pile of shit.

Also Spore. Promise the world and give us... that.

Tose are probably the big ones. I never finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky either, just becuase I kept running into anooying-arse bugs and found that there was nothing developed on from S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, (which was great in my opinion.)

I use Kaspersky Internet Security. It's cheaper and alot easier and better to use!

OT: I was unfortunately disappointed with Guitar Hero World Tour. As it was the first GH game I bought after Legends of Rock (which I love) and hoped that the series would continue it's brilliance.

I have since moved to Rockband.

I never seem to be disappointed by poor efforts but I'm often pleasantly surprised by good ones. I have VERY low expectations for games because generally I think "they will find SOME way to fuck this up."

The haters. You'd think that they would offer some sort of understandable objection.

No...They do not. In fact, they're more annoying than fanboys.

I've been disappointed a few times, but the 2 games that have disappointed me the most were probably FF5 and Seiken Densetsu 3 (the sequel to Secret of Mana). Neither were released in North America at the time but after hearing how amazing they both were I went on a desperate hunt to find translated versions of both. When I finally managed to get my hands on them I found them both to be, quite honestly, crap. SD3 left the fun and freedom of SoM behind to begin in earnest the Mana series slide into the cesspool it is today. FF5, being sandwiched between my two favourite games in it's respective series, somehow managed to contain nothing of what made FF4 and FF6 the amazing games they were.. the characters and story were quite poor and the job system was a silly broken mess.

I agree, COD 3 was bollocks, but don't you think Treyarch slightly redeemed themselves with the awesome nazi zombies?

Anyway, for me, I was disappointed by Red Faction Guerilla.
It was good, don't get me wrong, but there were not nearly enough buildings to destroy.
And also once you'd knocked a building down, that was it, it stayed destroyed.
Sure, you could start a new game, but you had to re-earn all your abilities and cool weapons and such.
