All of those are spots that put you into the fighting though. Hell three of are prime targets. I mean its the all the cool stuff certainly, but any real war, it certainly isn't safeBOOM headshot65 said:I would want to be a tank commander, a fighter pilot, a ship captain, or tactitian. Yes, those spots are still unsafe, but they are still FAR safer than being on foot. Althought, I would most likely be tactitian or ship captain. Why? Tatctitian because I love to stratigize and think thought stratagy problems, and am really good at it, and ship captain because I would have at least 50 tons of armor around me, and if I am sunk, I am an excellent swimmer.pro1337tariat said:All of those are spots that put you into the fighting though. Generally, people never care.Abandon4093 said:I never claimed to have worded it right. But generally, people don't make the distinction between an assault rifle and a battle rifle.
In passive conversation people call semi-auto rifles "rifles" and full automatic rifles "machine-guns". So what?Abandon4093 said:In passing conversation either can be used.
You are thinking of the Masada design eventually built by Bushmaster and Remington as the ACR?Abandon4093 said:And the newest assault rifles can use 7.62x51, along with an assortment of other calibres after changing the barrel.
If that is so why was the SCAR (a very modern rifle) adopted by the US military in it's Mk 17 form and not Mk 16? There are distinctions between them, even if they look almost the same. One is a battle rifle, other is an assault rifle. Simple as that.Abandon4093 said:There is literally no distinction to be made anymore.
I already said most of the characteristics of assault rifles. Bolt or operation are not relevant.Abandon4093 said:They've even got assault rifles that you can set to open bolt.
Either a sniper, commando, or demolitions. I prefer to fight my enemy by circumventing them tactically, either by hitting them from extreme range, surprising them with a flank, or by simply blowing up whatever cover/vehicle they're using to protect themselvessaucecode said:So I was playing Battlefield 3 with some friends, and i came to realise that the classes we played really reflected what our prefered job in a real war would be. One of them takes to the skies, the other supplies us with ammo, etc.
So anyway, You're thrown into a war... what role do you play?
Meh, we already have a soldier that doesnt wear any trousers over his pink boxers. Next!M0rp43vs said:Well I'd be that guy missing his trousers, wearing heart dotted boxers, some groucho marx glasses, a bandolier full of explosives and cans of rations and a frilly pink hat,
