Ever since Google bought youtube there has been the stupidest copyright laws ever thus completely defeating the purpose of youtube, I not saying that copyright is bad but the whole point of youtube was as stated on the homepage is a video sharing website, now its more like NO video sharing. This the should be the the youtube URL www.YOU-can't use it-TUBE.com

Although I dislike it, it's fair that they stop people showing entire episodes of series.

What does annoy me is when they ban home-made music videos and such using clips of TV shows/Movies as they are not taking away revenue from the companies that made them. It's just being picky.

They even removed the yu-gi-oh abridged series (And banned Littlekuriboh) for "copyright infringement" even though parody is protected under law.

Yeah, google stuffed things up, especially since anyone can make a copyright claim
Ahh, i remember when youtube was still run by 2 guys in a garage, the good ol days. Remembering the old video player, I want to go back now :(. But then again i'm not losing my awesome british accent or my long hair.
Off topic:
How does an aussie born asian get a british accent when he hits puberty?

Lol nice bit of plugging escapist content.

OT: I don't really know what you're talking about. Youtube hasn't changed in any way for me. When it does I'll have a *****.

Well, I do spend some time crafting my work. It's nice to have it appreciated. :)

Youtube also has the problem that the American networks have to police illegal copies of their shows, which is why the Python lads set up their own channel; just a pity more shows don't do the same...except then they'd be blocked to the UK...:(

you tube is hard to monitor. Even if they take a user down for copyrtight infringement, the person will create another acccount and start doing it again. examples being little kuriboh is now cardgamesFTW anf acc21A created a second account in the same name after he first one got screwed over (IT still up though)

I wonder why they just blocked the UK? Their reasons would stand if they had the same rules for everyone, but if they are only blocking the UK, then it doesn't make sense, since the USA is still able to access them and pass them out.

Of course, I want to shut my mouth about it because next thing I won't be able to access them either, lol.

LittleKuriboh just keeps making new usernames, so they'll never be rid of him.

But anyway, as long as they don't try to shut down Philip DeFranco, I'm fine.

I'm impartial.

I understand why YouTube has to do it, and appreciate it to some degree. If I made a song, and one of you took my song and put a different video to it, I'd police YouTube and tell them to take it down every time I find it.

On the other hand, they do it to such a degree that even content that isn't copyrighted somehow ends up copyrighted and removed. Too much vigilance and relying on people to report instance of copyright material. Most people reporting copyright violations have no fucking clue what they are talking about, and since YouTube doesn't know for sure, they take it down to avoid possible lawsuits.

I don't get why they pick on the UK. What have we done?

The thing that really pisses me off, is this: We can't watch American shows on Youtube, fair enough. But Americans can watch our programs. WHUT THE FUCK?

The thing that gets me is Hulu.com.

How come Americans can watch Hulu.com, but parts of Europe are blocked?

What's the point of that?

Exactly! It defeats the whole point of Youtube to have the user made content blocked.

Basically, the English artists are demanding too much, allegedly, and as Google 'lives' in America, they get the luxury package. Take a butchers through the comments on the article and I'll try and get more information when I can.

I gave up on youtube ages ago. It's full of people trying to be big and argumentative when they are just plain ignorant, uneducated fools with bad spelling and grammar.
