Youtube ruining Reach?

I'm a big youtube guy, and I love watching Hutch and Seananners and ONLYUSEmeBLADE run around and murder everyone in CoD, but now that Reach is out, they all seemed to have stopped posting MW2 videos, and have started posting Reach videos. While I'm glad that they appreciate how awesome the game is, it's only been out for a few days. None of the commentators are at all good at it, and neither are the people they're playing. I watch their games and think "Wow, this guy is terrible" even though I know they're some of the best players in the world. They all also seem to be still talking in CoD terms. Tejbz keeps saying he's getting "hit markers" and ONLYUSEmeBLADE compared the energy sword to commando. This makes me want to unsubscribe to them, because it's so clear that the ONLY THING THEY KNOW HOW TO DO is CoD. Now that they're making Reach videos, not only am I having to put up with a bunch of really famous guys saying they're good at a game that I know they're not (and apparently I'm the only one in the world who sees this), but I'm now worried that all of the retarded assholes/exploiters from MW2 will start buying Reach, and filling the game with a bunch of camping pussies who rage quit 75% of their games.

Sorry for the rant. Halo was my first video game, and I've loved it from the very beginning. After the despicable abomination that was MW2, I really don't want to see my favorite game series come crashing down around me.

What are your thoughts?
Are these commentators legitimately good at the game, and I'm a lot better than I thought (being that I feel like I routinely do better than the games they post)?
Am I overreacting, and the CoD people won't give a shit?
Or will it not matter if the MW2 noobs come in, because they'll all get torn apart anyway?

I agree with you. I just hope the MW2 fans migrating to Reach either A. Get angry and quit(the entire game, not a match you're in) or B. Start to see the game as it is and begin learning the ropes.

I don't think the internet-famous CoD players would suck at the game completely, they just haven't played enough of the game yet.(Yay Beta!) Give them time to adapt, and they'll Reach will grow on them. Halo was my first game too, and we can only see what will happen in time.

or we could just decide that cod has been shit since 4 with non of the major competative teams from cod4 going to cod 5 or 6 due to lack of balance and lack of modibility and so the people left are generally shit.

I'm very hopeful that they will all have pre-ordered black ops instead. That would solve most of the problem.

They don't suck entirely, they're just average. I just hate how they now have the ability to post average or even sub-par gameplay on youtube and still come away with 18,000 likes and maybe 200 dislikes, just because they're already famous.

While I agree with you, that really doesn't help, and isn't really related to the problem I posted.

Our pipe connecting to the sewer broke during a pretty hard rainfall 2 weeks ago. The entire basement got flooded. Now we are pretty much done rebuilding, we are getting new furniture next weekend. In the meantime, I'm searching for a TV not too old to connect my xbox right now. The only TV I have access to for my 360 is so old there are no audio/video cable inputs.

BTW I'm living in Canada. I'm a french canadian from Quebec. I'm proud of it but god it's a heavy burden when playing online.

they're proly not gonna play black ops. if they like and are good at MW2, then they'll stay there till infinity ward makes the next one. They're fan boys, and they hate Treyarch. And yes, if they are amazing at MW2 thats proly because they dont play other games. Of course they cant deal with emptying a full mag into someone who srugs it off and kills them with a punch. And its not thier fault, Halos combat was purposly slowed down, to provide an amazing level of balance. CoD on the other hand is sped up, allowing pros to destroy with little or no compettion from the noobs. I like them both, but MW2 was made for noobs to sell more copies. It makes me aggravated to play the game and die constantly by a grenade launcher or knife. At least in Reach I get some shots in before I die.

Indeed. Both games were designed to provide two different sorts of gameplay. Whilst I enjoy both, I do prefer the balance of Halo. Bungie took a lot of time to balance it, even thought I think Treyarch can do an awesome job with Black Ops if they take the time to balance it.

Well, I think that this is sort of present with the CoD -> Reach because the gameplay is totally different (I used to be good at Counter-Strike, after 4-5 months of MW2, I was constantly putting my silencer on while staring at someone's head and wondering why I couldn't 1 shot people with my knife) I think it'll get better fast.

In Starcraft 2, people were calling Stalkers "Dragoons", Phoenixes "Sairs", and Spine Crawlers "Sunkens" for quite a while, but most commentators have gotten over it by now and it's worked out great.
