I find that petrol works just as well as Holiday Spirit. Cheaper too.

I always look into the Yule Logs eyes, to see if they change when it dies. Sadly the flames always obscure them before that happens.

Christmas Trees deserve it. Those bastards have jumped me on many occasions (hanging ornaments for example) and attempted to stab me to death with their needle-leaves or drown me in sap.
