A machine gun turret?

A MACHINE GUN TURRET?

Well there's no way anyone's worried that Ben Affleck will be the one to ruin this movie any more, though I guess between Watchmen and Man Of Steel we should expected something like this.

I liked the one in the Dark Knight trilogy better. It had a design that looked like the military would sign off on it. Not like someone got drunk during design.

LMFAO! What the fuck is that? I can't tell where it begins or ends. As if the one from the Nolan movies wasn't off the mark this one...
What is it with every new director making it seem as though they and batman are overcompensating.

It reminds me of that Jimquisition video [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisition/9617-Batman-Is-Everything-Wrong-With-Square-Enix] where Jim critiqued Squeenix and the Batman action figure. There are just angles on the angles, points on the pointy bits, bits on the bits and the bits have bigger bits. The model/computer designer who made that just kept adding more and more.

Form follows function when it comes to actual tech. This is the wrong way around. I don't like it. It's ludicrous and over the top, miserable and colourless and all the things wrong with MoS. This car was designed to look "cool" and sell toys.

I'm with RealRT on this; Burton's Batmobile nailed it. It was a car taken to the ultimate level. Faster and tougher than anything else, hi tech where it mattered, sleek and darkly beautiful.

"Pleas don't be a stupid tank, please don't be a stupid tank, please don't be a stupid tank..."

It's a stupid tank.

"Damn."

I expected this, since he's basically making a frank miller wet dream. Snyder is such a fanboy.

Yeah because Batman has NEVER used turrets, missiles, rockets or any kind of lethal projectile in his weaponry, except for the decades of canon & adaptations which he has! Good fucking grief, if you're gonna complain, at least complain about something that hasn't been factually proven about 50 years ago.

Yeah. This is another ugly bat mobile. Even the Nolan bat mobile had real world military theme going this is just.... I really don't like it.

Must be that stun turret I saw in those arkham knight gameplay videos.

Honestly, there are two ways I see the film going at this point. Batman kills superman or superman kills batman. Either way, it looks like a grimdark mess.

Speaking of which, making batman look like iron man doesn't mean the film is going to make avengers money.

I don't really like the design, it looks too convoluted and busy... or maybe it is the angle of the photograph that makes it look that way. I am sure the toys companies (of course, you know they are involved, right?) will have a blast with all those small pieces.

I also don't like the turret at the front of the car. Not that its canon or not (others have said, Batman does have weapons in his vehicles, which he uses to clear debris and stuff), but the position is pretty stupid... At least in most depictions, the guns were retractable and in the back/sides of the hood. This just sticks out there, like a hood ornament. Who designed this?

"- You know what could be more useful than a bumber? A couple of machine guns. I am sure those barrels will absorb a lot of damage if you happen to hit something up front. Wait... You are not planning to use this thing to perform any high speed acrobatics, right?"

Way too fucking busy. I can to a degree dig angular but this just has too many details. It's kind of like the movie transformers in how the designer seemingly just jammed as many little bits onto it to keep the eye from having anything to focus on as to distract from how ugly and all around bland it is. The tumbler was very angular and had plenty of unnecessary detail but at least it had a look and feel that said this thing could be a real life military prototype, which made it fit right in with the trilogy's overall vibe. This however has a look that says military prototype that resulted in it's designer's discharge from service. It's clearly trying to piggyback off of the batmoble from the dark knight trilogy without having any grounding in what made that batmobile work.

Is there an actual race car anywhere in history that those Batmobiles resembled? Because I honestly can't think of one and I'd love to know.

Consider the movie was announced with Snyder reading a quote from the Dark Knight Returns and the rumors that Affleck is playing a Batman who's been at it for nearly 30 years it's not surprising that the aesthetics of Batman and the Batmobile are taking it's cues from that comic book.

For example here is a front view of the Dark Knight Returns batmobile as well.

For me there's not a lot to complain about. I personally like the look in general but do feel its a bit too much like some squeezed the tumbler and one of the Burton Batmobile's together. Except for the Desaturation being used for official pictures I've like the actual design aesthetics so far.

I just don't have a lot of faith in the script as of yet.

Hopefully it looks better in action, and with more lighting. Seriously, Snyder, lighten it up a little!

I feel the same way towards this car as I do towards the new DC trying to siphon off the comic book character crossover movies money pile that Marvel has already tapped line of DC movies.......lukewarm.
