Once in awhile, Yahtzee puts out a video that makes me wonder if he bothered to play the game at all. To see it go from start to finish without one mention of the fatigue bar or item degradation... yeah, you're not fooling anyone there. If you value your reputation at all, I hope to see a damn good Extra Punctuation on this.
I'm sorry. Fatigue and item fatigue are NOT a MAIN feature of a game.

In fact, we can mention any number of bugs from here to tomorrow but you don't need more than a few to make a clear judgement that this crap is crap, no matter how much you shine it.

I for one was really looking forward to buying this game.

That was until I realize zombies had levels and there were quests to fill for useless npc nobodies. And then I realized it was just an offline mmo.

Sewers still terrify me in real life. Just not in videogames. Between Metro 2033, Fallout and Bioshock 1 and 2, and Minecraft I feel like I have gotten my fill of traversing underground.

hah should have played as logan, thrown weapons never lose durability and if you aim for the head your chances of the weapon magically flying back into your hand rises astronomically :D

Tesla Modded Sledgehammer thrown Critical NEVER GETS OLD! ever seen a Thug go flying 50 ft? XD

I found it to be rather enjoyable. It was like everything I liked about left 4 dead without the tedious linear level system. It's a lot like Oblivion with zombies (which yahtzee also disliked), so yeah; he's an idiot who should not be taken seriously. I always found him to be more of a casual gamer anyway.

Speaking of mummies, I was very disappointed when a bloke mentioned mummies in a cut scene, and it turned out to be nothing but a tribe girl.

I'd also say the game picks up at the end, when mods become somewhat interesting and more prevalent, but only just in time for the game to end.

"Lingering eye contact"?!?! It's like the Handmaid's Tale, Borderlands and Dead Rising 2 may have been on top, but Left 4 Dead was getting the zombie rod. The font in the pause menu was the same. The pause menu set up was the same. The loading screen was the same.

I called plagiarism on Dead Island down to the Resident Evil influenced music in the safe houses! It rips EVERY zombie game off to some degree.

BUT!!!!!

I get barrels of cathartic release when I hear that crunchy squishy noise when I jump Mario-style on the heads of downed zombies like an HR Geiger rendition of hopscotch...

For the escort missions, I had only 1 time when the idiot-NPC actually caused his own death. This NPC, who seems to be a giant freaking badass, stops on a cliff to warn of the zombies at the bottom. "No problem," I say, and toss a molotov down there, incinerating the zom-bitches. Before the flames go out, though, Mr. Smarty jumps right in and burns to death. Dammit.
Same exact thing happened to me. Stupid Nikolai.

But I gotta say, I enjoyed the game. Plenty of content and I enjoyed it all.

"...most of you would be talking suicide pacts if the Internet went down for more than a week."

You have no idea. I used to work in Internet tech support and I swear most of those people called tech support the instant they saw "Page Cannot Be Displayed." ¬_¬

got my self this game since it was on special during the holiday specials on steam.
so far, this game doesnt grab me. it looks nice and all but not really compelling to keep playing.
its just a "meh" game to me. had more fun with L4D 1+2. at least LA noir is far more interesting then this game.

Dear Game Developers,

This "open-world zombie game" thing is getting old. Almost as creaky and senile as the "modern military shooter." Unless you want to boast your game's status as Bottom of the Bargain Bin in 2 years, try using your fucking cortex to figure out a new premise.

Love,

A Lot of People

Ok, speaking of the escort quests, I got a doozy of a middle finger from this game that Yahtzee never brought up, so here's my experience.

Situation: I think it was the first escort, because it was the sunny, islandy part of the game. Anyway, I came across a hill and at the bottom of the hill were about maybe 10 zombies or so that couldn't get to me, and the dumbass escort wasn't moving, because he actually had a bit of intelligence, or so I thought.

Solution: I figured instead of wasting my good weapons to go clean house, I instead got the idea to throw a molotov cocktail down on to all of the zombies killing them all. This worked like a charm, but apparently, NPC's in this game don't understand the concept of "FIRE HOT!" This dumb, stupid ass jumps down after all of the zombies are dead, but not before the fire was out, and he burned himself alive.
I know I only lost one molotov, but those are rare, and I was almost done with the mission, and had to take it from the top!

Honestly, I got bored of this game before I beat it. I just got tired of zombie games all together, and I haven't played one since!
