I'll say it right out. I am a huge Zero Punctuation fan. I stay up late every wednesday just so I can watch it. This thread is by no means an attack at Yahtzee or his work. Just letting you all know.

Anyway onto the matter at hand. Maybe its just me but has anyone else noticed a significant decline in the amount of people watching Zero Punctuation? I mean have a look at one of his earlier movies, his review of SSBB and it has 1230 comments. Then look at his most recent, a review of Fable 2 and it has 318. Its not just that particular review either. All of his recent reviews havent had the traffic of his earlier ones. Originally I thought it might just be that he is reviewing games that dont interest people. But I was under the impression that Fable 2 is a fairly hyped up game and so that leaves that theory dead on the side of the road. As I already stated Im a huge Zero Punctuation fan and this is not an attack on him, Im just curious as to what you guys think.

There have been many trolls, recently there was that one with the suggestive name... likes_it_rough, why did you choose Donald?
He's the one I remember the best over the others

The latest ones aren't as funny starting with silent hill homecoming, but that might be because I don't own any of them except fable.

To answer the question; it's just you.
There are always more comments about things he hates which others love. SSBB was the main one, as it annoyed a lot of people. I imagine there will be a good few more comments on the latest one later on. From what I saw, even people who liked the game agreed with him.

The amount of comments doesn't necessarily show that less poeple are watching. I still watch it religiously.

It depends on the game really...

If he gave ( which he probally will) Gears Of War 2 a scathing review then many fanboys will be registering to post there non-existant reasons why he is wrong

I dont think its just me. Lots of people liked fable 2 and he ripped into it like a Christmas Ham, yet still not as popular as his SSBB review.

Yeah comments aren't always analogous to page views. It's just his ssbb review and mail bag showdown caused a lot of anger and controversy, There's only so many people that need to say "lolz best review every yatzee you are god" etc.

I don't think it's so much a decrease in popularity, but that there isn't as much as an increase. I think the videos still get plenty of hits, but because his reviews are no longer new and exciting we get less new fans each week and there hasn't been as much to discuss because as has been pointed out, the latest reviews are somewhat less controversial.

I still find the videos as funny as ever, and certainly watch them every week, but I don't feel the need to comment on them.

SSBB was exceptional though, it was so over-hyped to the degree that people would die to defend it, of course it has more comments. He was flamed more then for any review for the SSBB one, heh.

Um, he rips into everything except Psychonauts and Painkiller. his SSBB review was controversial because he spent most of the video ripping on gamers and in part, his fans. I think a lot of people felt betrayed and offended.

People keep saying the SSBB review was controversial because it was over hyped right? Well so was fable 2.

I'd say SSBB is by far the most controversial review he has ever done to date - remember that people we buggering him for it before it even came out in Australia, and when he finally did his thing it was probably (well, in my opinion) at least partly a very deliberate provocation, and the fanboys responded predictably...

Could any "official" people share some viewing statistics? No...?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact you have to register to comment, many members won't comment on those threads anymore because no productive disscussion is produced.

Apparently Yahtzee gets around 4 million viewers across the globe.

Now that he actually updated it with TEXT it can be intelligently discussed.

Anyway, SSBB, like others have stated, was, and still is, I guess, controversial, since its such a well loved franchise among Nintendo fans

People like Fable 2, myself included, but it has nowwhere near the adoration as a Nintendo franchise like SSBB

But, when a Gears 2 or Little Big Planet or Left 4 Dead review comes along, you'll likely see a huge increase in posts.

But not nearly as much

And why did you make two of these threads originally without text?
