Ugh, ya know, I fucking love this series. Well, except that crappy 3DS game that had the potential to be cool but just wasn't. Fatal Frame is about the only horror franchise that effectively scares me - even Silent Hill can't make that claim. Well, sometimes they can. That new Pachinko machine looks terrifying as fuck. Fuck Konami, by the way.
I guess it's all in the different things that people find scary. I don't believe in ghosts whatsoever, but maybe that's what makes this whole series so scary to me. That and it doesn't always rely (or didn't as much) on Jump Scares. We never got the 4th one, which still makes me sad to this day. Sure, we got this one, but, and I'm really surprised Yahtzee didn't mention this, the game can only be bought digitally. There are no physical copies available and the game is around 16 GB. That's seriously HALF the Wii U's space, and actually more when you consider all the space updates take. Hell, those poor souls with the 8 GB drive can't even play it at all.
So basically I'd have to go out and buy a new flash drive/SD card just to buy this $49.99 game. Thanks for the heads up that it's shit, Yahtzee. Given that you confessed a love of past Fatal Frame games and other horror games in general, I shall take you at your opinion and just never play this one.
Bleh. The industry claims that horror games don't sell anymore, but they're generally not funding them very well, so it's like they're setting them up for failure. I mean, look at Bloodbourne! That's a horror game if I ever saw one, and it's sold like crazy. And instead of Remedy working on Alan Wake 2, we're getting another 'bang-bang-shooty' game.
