Great review, as always.
Picks out everything I don't like about the game - that whole feeling of it being a strategy game rather than the fun life-simulator-come-sim-killer game it used to be.

Summer games drought... to be fair there is Red Faction: Guerilla, Overlord 2, The Conduit and a few others you could have ripped apart
Red Faction doesn't have an Australian release date.
Overlord 2 comes out July 9th.
The Conduit, July 16th.

NOT EVERYBODY IS AMERICAN OKAY? <_<
In all fairness, neither am I, I'm Irish, but I guess even we get better release dates than the Aussies, maybe you should be like us and America and start fighting your English founders if you want better release dates, irrelovencies be damned I say

very nicely said about the evil in that game, can only agree.

but really, I didn't get the whole misogyny thing at the end; didn't seem to connect to the rest, and he usually sounds smarter than that regarding gender issues.

anyway, voice sounded tired too. Vacation time, Yahtzee!

I showed this to my friend, she LOVES the Sims, it made her cry. Bravo Yahtzee.

was she crying because it was really funny or did it hurt her feelings
She was more shocked as to when he mentioned how the "game was playing YOU!" kind of bit, because it is so true.

was it wrong to laugh at that comment because I can imagine it in my head.
It's fine, i found it funny as hell myself.

How about we bet which game he's going to review this time. My money is on Overlord II since it lets you kill baby seals and as some might remember from Yahtzee's No More Heroes review he expressed some dislike for those abominations especially at the ending message when he said and I quote "FUCK BABY SEALS". Also there isn't any of that good or evil bull crap like in most games and in staid gives you evil or a different kind of evil.

That was a well thought out take on the evilness of the SIMS...they are trying to take control of the world this way!

Side note: Even my wife thought the review was funny.

Didn't like it all that much, gotta be honest.

I mean, I know you usually go off-topic, but there were a bunch of gameplay "upgrades" that went unmentioned, leading me to believe you just played for, say, 3 minutes. And this review seemed more like a The Sims rant, or rather, a The Sims + EA + Women rant.

Oh well. It still made me laugh a little bit.

I personally cant stand the game, it gives me so many choices and punishes me if a go against my choices that i am forced to be stuck with until i die and cannot change them. They have destroyed the fun of the deciding it as you go along aspect of the game.

As always you point out exactly what's wrong with the game, even if the amount of time you spend bashing it isn't in direct proportion to how bad the game actually is. I doubt I'll ever get the sims 3 since it seems like the sims 2 with upgrades, but you have to buy all the "DLC" again. Is EA the new Activision or something?
