What was the joke of Calling god of war "ass burger"...
Uh, no. he said 'asperger' - as in Asperger's Syndrome.

I disagree with the review that some of you thought you saw. I saw a different review.
I saw Yahtzee give the game a chance - and he found it to be somewhat amusing and fun despite its obvious problems. I think that he gave it bonus points for a moment of spontaneous fear and tension, and that may have colored other bits of the review.
[Also I think he played the game in one day, then wrote/made the review in a sleep-deprived state immediately afterwards. So that he could spend 10-12 days playing BI.]

Having said that, I wouldn't give this game the time of day on account of all of the other games that it has borrowed from (and then squandered those good ideas). I'm also annoyed at Yahtzee for not making the same call. Just last week he was making the "Steam bath" joke, and the game 'Organ Trail' was on sale all last week. You would actually have had to ignore the Steam store completely for about 14 days to not know anything about it (though I grant that could happen - I check daily to see what's on sale). Worse still is the fact that the terrible ending with 'a turret-zombie' set piece is almost definitely borrowed from another game - the great old Zombie Half-Life mod 'They Live'. [A set piece which was also borrowed by Valve and placed prominently in Half-Life 2, during the beach outpost fights just before Nova Prospekt.] Its just amazing that they can borrow so much material, screw it up with bad implementation, terrible graphics, a tiny number of level designs, awful AI, buggy code, and then somehow get a big publisher to release it. This game should have been aborted, and its existence insults my sense of propriety.

Maybe they patched it?
Maybe it didn't it Joe's usual narrative of fellatio to super-hyped AAA titles?
Eh, I dunno. I don't like Angry's review style much, but I occasionally check them because, somehow, he seems to enjoy similar games to me. Including the first Sword of the Stars, a favourite of mine too. And hardly a AAA blockbuster.

Despite his obvious issues touched upon with GoW, I'm not going to with even the slightest attempt at a straight face call Survival Instinct a better experience.

Fresh ideas? Sure, but when they're handled this poorly, even the more uninspired title is leagues better if its functional.

Not Bioshock? Yahtzee, you charismatic stallion. Way to not jump on the bandwagon like every other freaking reviewer in existence. *clap**clap*
Due to Aussie release dates and the time to make a video, Yahtzee is usually a week or so late with his videos.

Hmm... I was dead set against buying this game. Every reviewer hates it. As long as this isn't revealed to be a delayed april fools joke I'll keep an eye out for a good sale on this game.

To anyone put off by this game or the other one (or both, somehow), I want to assure you the show is really good. Most of season 2 might drag a little, and if you tear up easily and don't like to, it's not for you, but it's all good.

Surprised by how generous he was with this review - both relative to other sources and in terms of typical Yahtzee reviewing. How nice. Still not going to buy it though, the Telltale ones are the only TWD games I need.

Yahtzee is certainly unique among most other game critics, I'll give him that. Is there anyone else who would give (relative) praise to such a reviled game purely on the basis that it's not what his idea of an awful mainstream game is?

It is a bit pretentious, though. He liked Far Cry 3 and that was about as Triple A as it got. I'm guessing his Bioshock Infinite review will be all griping about the set-pieces and contextual button presses that the game uses sparingly, as opposed to the story, atmosphere, organic combat or anything that's actually worth talking about.

I bought both Project IGI and IGI 2. Never finished them without cheats though. I failed at stealth when I was a kid.

Nope. Yahtzee. Look at the first page of this thread.
Apologies, but you only said "he" in a comment talking otherwise exclusively about Angry Joe.

You realise that pointing to exceptions doesn't itself invalidate the rule, and these do appear to be exceptions.

I used to watch him all the time. Now I just do it for the Schadenfreude when I'm reasonable sure he's going to have a fit. Like, for example, any Capcom news whatsoever.

Actually, I should rephrase. It's not just schadenfreude. It's also the fact that the times where he's angry to the point I think he might cry are the only instances where he comes off as genuine.
