Will he bash it or praise it? Who'd have thought it, seeing his top 3 are sandboxes?![]()
Nah, it was just me wishful thinking.
My post was perfectly clear and I used understandable grammar and I didn't use netspeak, just because you are a douchebag does not make my post badly written.D_987 said:I didn't realize really bad gameplay can be excused because it plays similarly to previous titles, guess every Lara Croft game has good gameplay then, you know, since it's reminiscent of the older games...RobPsyence said:and the game play actually was meant to be reminescant of the older games. So saying the gameplay sucked is a copout criticism that only comes from Metroid Prime lovers...
Gameplay comes from the scenarios produced, the games flow, and the way the character controls. Simply utilizing a similar system to an old game does not make the gameplay "good" in any way. That's an absurd argument, the rest of your post is so badly written I can't even bothered to produce counter-arguments as I'm only partially certain as to what kind of point you're attempting to make...
Ok, let me explain something to you:RobPsyence said:My post was perfectly clear and I used understandable grammar and I didn't use netspeak, just because you are a douchebag does not make my post badly written.
Here's the thing. I think Metroid is shit. As a series, both gameplay wise, aesthetically - pretty much everything to do with the series regardless of its first person or third person gameplay style, in my opinion, has been poor. I don't care about the series, and admittedly I've only played a couple of games in it. Frankly, I was going by what you stated - in fact I quoted your point. My point, had nothing to do with Metroid in of itself, but rather the fact that claiming a new game cannot be poor simply because it attempts something earlier games apparently excelled in is laughable logic. My MAIN Point is that Other M is supposed to be nostalgic going back to Metroid's 2D Platforming roots. It isn't using the same system, you saying that prooves your ignorance... You and others seem to think of Metroid Prime when you see Metroid...ever think that all metroid games don't have to be strictly 3d platforming? You forget that the original games are on SNES.
The rest of my post had to do with other things I've heard people complain about. One of those was that you have to find Samus' powers.. Complaining about that is stupid because that's how it is in pretty much ALL Metroid games. Another is that Samus doesn't talk, this complaint is wrong because she HAS spoken in Metroid Fusion...
Like I stated, I don't know, nor care, about the franchise itself, that's why I specifically took the discussion away from the series by mentioning Lara Croft as an example. Why you're trying to defend the abomination that was Other M [I can tell a bad game when I see it regardless of past games] is beyond me, but whatever, if you choose to defend shit, don't be surprised when you continue to be served horrible game after horrible game.Other M is supposed to connect Super Metroid with Metroid Fusion..so it makes sense to make it feel like those two Classic Games. Metroid Prime has ruined people's perceptions of what Metroid should be.
Yeah, because a game failing to hold someones attention for a few hours concludes it can't be criticized since they didn't finish it, right? Wait, that's moronic. If a game can't hold a players attention for a few hours then it's an appalling game and should be mocked, as is the case with FFXIII.Alucard832 said:lol, he's still criticizing FFXIII when he didn't even play it. If I'm reading posts on the forum, and I see your post. I stop to read your hilarious, and abysmal logic, but find it difficult to read. If I find it difficult to read, it's difficult to read, because I'm the target audience of your post. You can argue all you want that it is untrue, but it's not - because if the very people you're trying to communicate your post to don't understand it, there's something clearly wrong, and it's on your side. Your grammar was appalling, the spelling laughable and the run on sentences dumbfounding.

Indeed, after all, pointing out how moronic the point you made, whilst you completely mis-interpret my point, is most certainly idiotic on my half /sarcasm. -_-RobPsyence said:Your idiocy as a troll is amazing.
No what I find idiotic, is that I made a stand alone post and you come along to pick at my opinion. Not only this, but you also don't even like the subject that my opinion is about. Also, you ***** about my grammar and writing, when there are posters with a hundred times worse grammar, spelling, and writing that you can complain about. I didn't ask for anyone's input.D_987 said:Indeed, after all, pointing out how moronic the point you made, whilst you completely mis-interpret my point, is most certainly idiotic on my half /sarcasm. -_-RobPsyence said:Your idiocy as a troll is amazing.

I'd say that stopping halfway is really really bad for a critic since they're essentially supposed to dissect and review the ENTIRE product, and there are plenty of great games with bad openings. But then Yahtzee has always been a satirist and not a critic so.D_987 said:Yeah, because a game failing to hold someones attention for a few hours concludes it can't be criticized since they didn't finish it, right? That's an argument I see time and again and I'm not seeing it. If a game is still boring, after the supposed 5 hours he played it, critic or not, there's more than needed justification not to continue playing. If, in the first 5 hours, a game is poor - then it's a poor game overall, however you put it - and FFXIII doesn't change until the 30th hour and even then it goes straight back to the same style of gameplay shortly after introducing a single open space.LackingSaint said:I'd say that stopping halfway is really really bad for a critic since they're essentially supposed to dissect and review the ENTIRE product, and there are plenty of great games with bad openings. You're on a forum. There's a quote button for a reason - you don't like? Don't post, or at least don't make stupid posts that are easy to pick apart.RobPsyence said:No what I find idiotic, is that I made a stand alone post and you come along to pick at my opinion.
Ok, how am I going to explain this to you? I'll try again...Not only this, but you also don't even like the subject that my opinion is about.
Worse than your original post? Not that I can think of.Also, you ***** about my grammar and writing, when there are posters with a hundred times worse grammar, spelling, and writing that you can complain about.
I forgot that was how it works here. I have to ask you before I quote you... -_-I didn't ask for anyone's input.
Just wanted to pop in and say, this has been a hilarious back and forth. Also the original Metroid wasn't on the SNES, so his argument is even more flawed than he realizesD_987 said:You're on a forum. There's a quote button for a reason - you don't like? The whole point of my initial post was that your point was stupid regardless of the franchise. Your point is not exclusive to the Metroid franchise, it's just a stupid point whatever the case and that's the reason I quoted you.
