Hey, at least it's not as bad as the original, where some nations would go so far as to sign Non-Aggression Pacts with the little grey bastards.Blood Brain Barrier said:The one real complaint I have is that nations won't rejoin you again if you are doing well. It makes it pointless to keep playing after a couple of nations have left already, plus it's always possible to make a spectacular comeback. It would be great if countries leaving the project can get conquered and you can reconquer them. Might make the game more like Civilization though, which some don't want.
I did, that game is hilarious.Zombie_Moogle said:Did anyone else smile as wide as I did when he referenced Octodad?
This is something I need to start remembering more often! I love the game despite it's frustrations. It's such a fun game! The Gentleman said:Remember: the save button is your friend...
One... more... turn...
And remarkably accurate, though I would imagine that adds to the humour.ciancon said:The four panel sketch at the end was hilarious!
So savescumming, bad? I thought it would be funny to think of yourself as the guy who was given command of XCOM because he has the Dagger of Time or something. That should make up for the screwed-upness of letting random probability decide the outcome of battle. Wasn't that the problem Yahtzee had with Fallout 3 (an otherwise fantastic game)?Ragnarok2kx said:Were you savescumming between turns by any chance? Because the rng generates a big ol' string of numbers at the start of the mission and just uses them sequentially. Therefore, if you try the same shot 5 times by reloading, the outcome will always be the same. ames like fire emblem do this as well, if I remember right.Atmos Duality said:Seriously. Fuck the RNG in this game.
I have to study Chaos Theory and I'm calling bullshit on it.
Statistically, there is a chance to miss five 70%+ shots in a row. But when it happens to me on EVERY OTHER MISSION, I'm inclined to think that it's just dicking me in the ear.
Actually, they just withdraw their support to focus on their own people. They don't get conquered.Blood Brain Barrier said:The one real complaint I have is that nations won't rejoin you again if you are doing well. I didn't say they did. But I think the game suggests they do - when a country withdraws its support you see a swarming tornado-like thing on the map over that country. I don't see why that would appear simply because of an administrative shift.Bindal said:Actually, they just withdraw their support to focus on their own people. You know they are doing a sequel due next yearRoyalSorceress said:I did, that game is hilarious.Zombie_Moogle said:Did anyone else smile as wide as I did when he referenced Octodad?
I wonder if Yahtzee would do a mini review of Octodad, maybe with a few more small games.
A refreshing change from the XBLA mash-up reviews. Perhaps a Steam Greenlight reviewRoyalSorceress said:I did, that game is hilarious.Zombie_Moogle said:Did anyone else smile as wide as I did when he referenced Octodad?
