Zombies V. Aliens

So tell me forum: Zombie Apocalypse or Alien Invasion?

This has been a topic of heated debate between friends and I for some time. WHich alternate reality would you prefer? Shot-gunning your way through hordes of zombies like a BAMF, or uniting with the human resistance Gordon Freeman style and owning some intergalactic (or inter-dimensional)alien ass?

Personally, I would go for aliens over zombies.

Zombies would be more predictable, and getting a good group together and holding out could be a lot of fun.

Aliens could be too tricky. Depending on the technology, they could easily exterminate the lot of us, track down the last remnants and survivors, zombies wouldnt have that potential.

Zombies, they're slow, stupid and have no technology. Aliens are fast, intelligent, wield advanced weapons of war, and probably have completely bulletproof defense systems. Also, aliens wouldn't even need those advantages since they would likely bombard the planet from orbit, where we can't even hope to touch them, until the Earth was a barren sheet of glass.

The question is, are they your average undead zombies, that just lumber around and absorb bullets in their foreheads, or, are they the infections ones Left4Dead style with all the varieties of undead awesome.
I still go for aliens, because even tho my chances of survival are less, that would be one awesome fight for survival. Plus I'd steal alien tech and enjoy the ever-loving shit out of it

Considering the all-time moronic alien movies of the past (allergic to water in Signs, allergic to germs in War of the Worlds, etc.), some aliens are pretty damned retarded when it comes to researching the planets they invade. It would be like humans trying to invade Venus, assuming all the while that "I'm sure we'll just get used to sulfuric acid clouds and 100 atmospheres of pressure."

Aliens. Then at least, when they take over, your rag-tag resistance is accomplishing something other than the separation of human upper-extremities. Also you aren't killing other humans at all, and you can stand tall with your race, and fight against the invaders!

Also, it's a great feeling when humanity eventually triumph over the aliens, just get the feeling form the end of War of the Worlds... (The film, I mean).

Aliens, easy choice. Shooting zombies with retro shotguns are all right and all, but blasting aliens with laser cannons on distant weird and exotic planets is much more awesome. You have new technology to play with, a chance to see the universe and the aliens which inhabit it.
