Why don't you just change it to "Zynga decides to ride off the recent Wild West popularity that Red Dead Redemption has created."

Cool! Another game Facebook Tobuscus can make fun of.
YES! His take on FarmVille is so epic. I was happy to have discovered him (his video about the Twilight trailer is on the similar level of epic).

A new curly-mustached competitor to FarmVille just arrived in a covered wagon.
Is it truly a competitor if the profits from both go to the exact same company?

Well, even if they are "sisters"(since both came from a "gay", I mean.... happy company....), they are competing for facebook users to play them.... Much like 2 sister radios on the same company. Sure, they are in the same company, but with audience share, they are rivals IMO....

Anyway... Another Farmville-esque game from the makers of Farmville... *Vomits*

Wasn't there any article about how Zynga needs to make a slightly deeper version of Farmville to cash in on the new market of casuals they created? I hope it turns out well. A new generation of consumers and hobbyists would be great.

While I never plan to play it (mostly because I don't care for Facebook at all and I absolutely HATE most RPGs), this does sound intriguing from a time-waster standpoint. Might check it out if I ever fall into the social networking disaster that is Facebook.

The article is written like it's some great new RPG ground that Zynga is expanding into, but I don't see it. You harvest crops, you clear debris, you build stuff, you get experience for it all. The only difference is that this time, instead of choosing what you want to do, you get quests telling you what to do instead.

This means only one thing to me; something else I'm going to have to block in order to stop getting damn requests to join or accept some crap.

When will Zynga realise you can't just make a game and put "ville" on the end of it? That just makes it vile...

See wut I did thar?

Urge... to... not care... rising...

Seriously, I've already long given up on Zynga making anything other than a point-and-click-a-thon. Adding more things to click on before you can click on other stuff doesn't make it any more of a game.

For those who haven't heard any of my rants on the subject before, my issue with Zynga is that the players skills/abilities have absolutely 0 influence on the program or outcomes of actions. They will never be games, only time sinks. As long as I'm going for a time sink, I'll find one from a company that doesn't use its games for scams.

Well, the last game's popularity I expected Zynga to milk was Red Dead Redemption.
Well, Red Dead Redemption has been out for 24 days, that's plenty of time for them to ape it.

I can see Zynga beating Rockstar in next years March Mayhem too, with hordes of Zynga fans saying things like:
"Some of us want to enjoy the Wild West without hog-tying prostitutes or shooting Bandits"
"When will Rockstar realise that the Wild West isn't about crime and violence, it's about farming and family fun?"
"WHO IS ROCKSTAR? ZIGNA MAKE THE BEST WILDWEST GAEMS IN THE WORLD! ZIGNA ROOKS!"

Sure it sounds interesting but I'm never going to play it. Sorry Zynga, maybe next time. The only Zynga game I play is Scramble and it's gonna stay that way for a while.
