This kind of thing is never good news, but damned if they don't deserve a good hammer to the cherry tomatoes. Hopefully the people who work from them can abandon ship and get some decent jobs.

Because Zynga potentially dying is just way too good to be true.
Sadly, it probably isn't. Likely, in fact. But I'm with you. To quote Professor Farnsworth, "A man can dream though. A man can dream."

But hey, who knows. Maybe a bit more of their "dirty secrets" will come to light and the investors will flee from them like Zynga has the plague.

That loss was caused by the issuance of $510 billion of "stock-based compensation" to employees that was triggered by the company's December IPO.
WAT WAT WAT WAT

Breaking news: Zynga distributes half a trillion dollars to employees, inflation crashes stock market!

OT: This is interesting. Still, don't think it'll hurt them in the long run!
I know billion in the US means something different than countries that use metric system (mainly a thousand millions rather than a million millions), but is a thousand billions a trillion?

Contrary to popular belief stock prices don't actually affect a company beyond share holders whining for a bit.

What the fucking hell are you talking about? A billion dollars is a thousand millions. A million is a thousand thousands. A trillion is a thousand billions. Always has been and it always will be.
Acrually, It used to be the UK,
1,000,000,000,000= billion (as in Bi- for two)
1,000,000,000,000,000,000 = Trillion (Tri for 3 )
And so forth.

Until it was changed not to long ago

Quite certain it's always been the same unit measure, that doesn't really make much sense...but I'm in the US so...

I wouldn't put too much stock into what that analyst firm says. They're basically hired to predict every possible outcome and pick the most viable one, meaning that they're often wrong enough. It's a bit like gambling really.
But what would you expect? The analyst says: "buy tech-stocks". Woot! What a surpise.
My personal opinion though, is that these figures coupled with Zynga's controversy could cripple them financially.

Edit: Why did I write "hired" like that? Was I high myself or something?

Indeed. Alarmist investors fear the sky is falling. You hear it constantly, every day.

Meh, That's always the way I've been told.
It Goes=
English = American
Million = Million
Millard = Billion
Billion = Trillion
Trillion = Quintillion

And so on and so forth.

Again....in the US. For maaaaaaaaaany people around the world 1000 * million = one thousand millions, not a billion. Billion means two (bi) millions (million). Or million * million, or million squared, hence the two in there. I was just wondering what a trillion means in the US.

What kind of illogical idiocy is that? That makes absolutely NO sense. The way we have it set up makes sense, each three zeroes on the end jumps you up to the next modifier. Three zeroes is a thousand, Six zeros is a mil, nine is a bil, twelve is a trillion, so on and so forth. 2,000,000 = one billion and 1,000,000,000 is a thousand millions? Makes NO sense.

And here you guys call inches, feet, yards, degrees Fahrenheit and M/D/Y illogical...
Um, no need to get aggressive. I'm was just asking in a polite way what the equivalency was in the US and you jump down my throat. Might have to check that anger management.

I've Wikipediaed for the answer. The mathematical difference between the two systems is what number it is based on: US and UK (and other places) the base is a thousand, while in other countries it's based on a million. Here, have a look at the section "comparison": Long and short scale [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_scale]

In the long scale (i.e. not the one in the US) a million has 6 zeroes so a billion has twice as many, and a trillion has three times as many zeroes. The qualifier changes each 6 zeroes.

million= 10^6
billion= 10^12
trillion= 10^18
