Would've been easier to post the words from the Guardian link, but gotta admit there's a twisted satisfaction from bypassing news paywalls like a knock-off Robin Hood with only despair to share instead of riches.
What is this magic power thou wield oh wizard?

Critical Race Theory makes everyone feel bad. There are different types of bad, but there's no joy at all.
I remember reading Brave New World for school. Or watching the movie Gallipoli. Those made me feel bad. So.... maybe we need to ban those too.

But anyway, CRT doesn't make me feel bad. It makes me want to think about ways to make society better.

Ben Shapiro is still around for one.
For the life of me I'm not really sure what the point of Ben Shapiro is. I guess mostly just that whilst he was young and fresh was one of the first conservatives to successfully embrace web 2.0 without being batshit insane, but I don't think he ever reached much profundity either.

As far as I can tell he mostly makes a storm on teh interwebz by punching down at fish in a barrel, because when he tries to tangle with someone who can argue back he gets his arse handed to him.

Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is an absolute idiot. If he were smart like Mitch McConnell(Smart doesn't equal moral) he would have as many republican votes for the 1.2 trillion "bipartisan bill regarding infrastructure in the House. Now the progressives have enough votes to block the 1.2 trillion bill because they aren't getting 3.5 trillion or less to build back a better plan or budget bill or reconciliation bill. So now the progressives will likely get a 1.2 trillion dollar infrastructure bill AND whatever is negotiated regarding the 3.5 trillion or less budget bill.

Had he not listen to Trump, he could have crushed the progressives alongside Pelosi and the neoliberals. Now the progressives including the justice democrats have not 10, not 15, not 25, but 60 votes to block the 1.2 trillion bill. I thought republicans were all as ruthless as McConnel, but this guy is more Dan Quayle, and George W Bush than McConnell, and Nixon.

And now Biden gets to show voters, hey I did shit, and passed 2 bills. vs I did less shit and passed only 1 bill.

My reasoning for this is as follows.

Your preferences as the Republicans are in order of desirability.

1. 0 Bills passed on infrastructure

2. The lesser Biparisen infrastructure passed(the 1.2 trillion one)

3. Both infrastructure bills passing

Your preferences as a centrist neoliberal or "moderate" are in order of desirability.

1. Indifferent towards either one bill passing or both bills since if both passed that would take more time, and effort and the 1.2 trillion bills are something Trump hasn't done so it's enough to beat him in the 2024 elections

2. No bills passing

Your preferences as a progressive and or justice democrat are in order of desirability.

1. Both bills passing since progressives love social spending, and government spending on infrastructure due to their need to care for the American Worker

2. The 1.2 trillion since they drive too, and it's still government spending on the American people even if it also includes money to companies(they are saying this is not desirable vs no bills passing to pressure Pelosi and the moderates)

3. No bills passing

But since Republican senate minority leader McConnell was afraid Bernie would get his way and was afraid of a larger bill than 1.2 trillion which Joe Biden was implied to threaten with his meetings(By passing 50-50; A larger infrastructure bill with Harris passing the deciding vote via reconciliation) and appointment of budget chairman to Bernie Sanders. He passed the 1.2 trillion compromise bill with republican backing and made no bills passing a non-option. Since even if Patrick Leahy say dies, and the senate becomes 49 -51 dem to republican(Due to the Republican governor of Vermont appointing a republican to in theory replace him). The House still has enough members to vote in the 1.2 trillion.

Edit: So why is Kevin McCarthy other than being an idiot helping the progressives by telling his house members not to vote for the lesser bill. If Biden passes both bills the Democrats will win in 2024, and may even keep either the House or the House, and Senate.

Ummmm, no. I don't think so. You're assuming the bill would make good things happen, and dumping trillions more into an economy that already has too much currency chasing to shortages of goods without even enough labor to unload to ships on time is not destined to be a political success the way you are imagining it. The government cannot spend its way out of an everything shortage, and dumping a huge pile of money on projects during one just adds more people competing for the same depleted inventory.

Do people understand there's an everything shortage going on? Like, funny enough coming from me, the child care portion of the big bill makes more sense to pass at this moment than almost all of the physical infrastructure projects. Like, people are trying to build houses because they have the money too, the economy has tons of money flowing through it, but the shortages have been so bad that a few months ago construction companies were cancelling projects and eating the contractual penalties because the price of materials was so inflated that completing the project would have been the greater loss. Why would we want the federal government to jump in right now and compete for goods in that market space?

A trillion dollar infrastructure bill will be spending money long after a short term supply crunch ends.

A short term supply crunch that is here in some part due to an unwillingness of businesses to raise wages to acceptable levels. It is not as if there's suddenly no copper or iron in the ground and so forth, nor people to accomplish the work. They just demand better living conditions and safer workplaces.

Why, are you normally ideologically against childcare or something?

Short term. Sure... We will see.

No, but many prominent conservatives have made the shallow talking point that childcare isn't what people associate with infrastructure, which is basically them criticizing Democrats' bills without actually taking a stance on the policy.

Just a quirk of a phone browser if I switch it to reading mode before it fully loads the page, though the timing is small and uncertain like a dark souls parry window with no fixed spot. 😉

As for Benny Shapiro (or "B-Shapps" as he's known in the GOP underground rapping scene) he at least has had enough forward thinking to not jump in with the real crazies lately, so in the most basic sense of career self-preservation beyond a year, he's shown a bit of restraint, for better or worse, while most likely being aware that encouraging your fanbase to indirectly kill themselves doesn't work out in the long run. And that is the last time I'll willingly defend the weasel, sorry B-Shapps. (Your rapping sucks too)

Is the B shapps a reference to him going off about WAP on air?
