Space Marine 2, without a doubt.

Also non-video game related, my school is finally going to open the teaching kitchens again, now that the vaccine is more available, so I can finally finish my culinary degree. Hopefully I don't get Covid this time.
Same for both lol. I haven't been back to campus for two years now and I'm really hoping to graduate in person, not in front of a screen. But for Space Marine, I'm excited for it for sure, but definitely feel like I probably won't get it in 2022. I have a feeling it will be a game that's gonna need a whole lot of polish after launch, considering that they seem to be using the World War Z swarm tech.

OT: I'm really excited for God of War, because I'll actually be able to play it lol. I would have been more excited for Spider-man 2 but PS5's are still in hiding.

Possibility touching a PS5...

I CAN DREAM, DAMMIT!
Are people still having PS5 shipping troubles? I was never interested in getting one, buy the best buy by my house has a full stack of them up front for Xmas shoppers
As more and more shipments of retail Ps5 come out, I've noticed that resellers on Ebay have dramatically had to drop their prices. Now you can find a Ps5 disc version for as low as 650 on ebay when they used to be 1100+. So while it sucks to have to deal with a scalper, it really isn't that much more than retail prices if you figure taxes, if you really wanted one you could feasibly go this route and not be too overly hurt by it. Digital only Ps5's are even cheaper down as low as 550.

Retail is of course optimal but the odds of that are very very low unless you are constantly looking and monitoring retail sites, which would take more work than I feel is worth it.

It’s a wonder this hasn’t already been made law two hardware generations ago, as scalping isn’t helping anything or anyone but the pos’s doing it. It should extend beyond bots as well, and applied to hoarding during times of crisis too.

But then again we live in a world where NFT’s are the next big thing, so go fucking figure.

This is a craigslist and ebay problem.

Because for as much shit as Amazon gets, it does actively prevent this from happening. You cannot sell a product for a dramatically different price than everyone else on the website. Like I sell mugs, and I cannot exceed 20% of the average cost of my mug sold by other people on the site.

I'm really surprised that Ebay and other seller sites don't do things to stop this from happening. At least for a period of time. Like if Ebay had a policy that you cannot sell a product higher than retail price until after 2 years after the product has launched. That way if you do scalp you'd have to hope for a product shortage years after the fact. And it leaves you gambling on product collectibility which would dramatically reduce the desire to scalp the latest and hottest product.

'STRAYA, arse end of supply chains.
It doesn't feel like it's easy to get one here in the US either, unless someone is fucking with me and just hiding them all from anywhere I could reasonably expect to find one. You either start checking the retail sites randomly hoping to snag one or hope you get lucky enough to find one available in a store(assuming you go to stores on a regular basis).

And no, I'm not paying to join the special Walmart club or the Best buy club or the GameStop club for maybe a slightly better chance of getting one. Maybe if I could be gurenteed a chance to buy one when stock is in but paying for the privledge of a slightly better chance feels like playing the lottery.

I did find it odd that i was able to walk into a Gamestop and buy a new Xbox Series S right off a shelf basically, but the "premium" consoles are still online only. Fucking why? Just put them on shelves.

The problem I'd have is I don't have a gamestop near where I live or work, at least not that I can just walk over and grab one on a whim. If I knew I could go in there between say "10-11 am"and be able to walk out with a console I'd fucking go over there on my lunch hour and do it, but just randomly wandering in and out of electronic stores hoping to find one on the shelf feels unfeasible.

It feels like what I call "The cable guy problem". They can offer the thing any random time they want and if you can't be available 24/7 to accommodate, then fuck you I guess.

Still over 1k dollarydoos for a regular PS5 (749 rrp) on eBay in Aus. Pre-owned Digital Only will still set you back around 800.

FUCK and THAT

Hell, online sites here only put PRE-ORDER up for a day or two. Anything else you have to call or drop in to the individual outlets on the chance they've managed to fill their slice of preorders and have a unit or two left...

And here's the real kicker for me... I live 1 1/2hr drive from a shitty store that may one day have stock and 4hr drive from a good store that might also have one, one day, if I sacrifice the correct number of goats... and that would start me raving on about fuel here being ~AU$1.65/litre and how city drivers are all fuckwits who need to die.

I'm interested in God of War and Horizon: Forbidden West but I'm determined to not buy any games next year in an attempt to make a dent in my backlog. Plus, those can both wait until I get a PS5 so I get the best experience. But I'm not getting a PS5 until I can walk into a store and buy one because fuck validating a scalpers existence by buying one from them.

Breath of the Wild 2 as well if that's out next year. I'm sure there are others but that's all I can think of now.
