How do you find it?
The Disqus comments are directly below the ZP video in question (Some of the time. Occasionally they do not appear.)
The YouTube comments are below the YouTube-page for the ZP-video in question.
The Escapist discord I had quite a challenge in joining when the forums login did not work for me over the holidays, but eventually a friendly face on twitch shared a link.
The Forums I only yesterday found out had an official ZP subforum when this thread plopped up among one of the most recent one.

I'm not sure I understood the question...

Yeah, sorry. My mistake

Do you like Disqus? I found it awful initially but you're a more consistent user

"Like" and "like"... it's kinda like when an application asks "Would you recommend this piece of software to a friend?" In general I don't discuss such matters with friends. If it works, it works, and that's the end of the story.

The thing I dislike about disqus is that occasionally the disqus-powered comment section do not appear on the page in question, but I don't know if that's due to disqus or due to escapistmagazine.com having implemented it poorly.

The most surprising to me about his picks is The Artful Escape. I mean.... he calls it a game without gameplay. And he's right. I guess it's just about really liking the art style? I like it, too, but I only played it myself because it was on Gamepass, I can't imagine actually playing a penny for a "walk to the right" game.

I sounds like it's the same vibe as games like Journey and Abzu. There's little gameplay, but it's a wonderful experience for a few hours.

I find it increasingly disheartening as the years go on how infrequently I ever play any of the games ZP reviews in a year, let alone any of the ones that make the 5s Lists.
I think the last time was Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Modern games just aren't doing it for me, always so buggy, so rushed, everything is released in a patch 10 weeks after launch, and Ive never been able to shake the feeling game devs are making games meant to be streamed on Twitch, rather than enjoyed in a room by yourself. There always seems to be "reaction beats" where something happens, and the game is waiting for me to look at chat and make a funny face.

1. I still say "Happy New Year" and hope it doesn't age like milk during bushfire season.
2. How can a company like People Can Fly make something as bland as Outriders?
3. GOTG is drenched in corporate cum alright, corporate cum that saw the reviews for last year's Avengers contrivance and demanded the devs fix it or be sacrificed to that Final Fantasy cult from 2002.

Because Square Enix told them to, but combined with the recent EP article on how bad Bland games are and showing some heart for TLOU2 and Balan's Wonderworld despite being the bad game of 2020 and 2021 respectively shows that he does want more innovation even if it's even it doesn't meet his expectationst

This also puts Left Alive in a whole new perspective as it may had sucked but at least it wasn't another dull overwatch style shooter like Evolved was

Whats Evolved? If you meant Evolve well that came about a year before Overwatch.

Front Mission evolved, a bland tps with unnecessary on foot sections and a dull multiplayer. Mecha games kind of suck in Japan since they are essentially third person shooters with robots instead of spongy humans

Armored core is fucking awesome (well not 5).

Front mission evovled was loved by no one, but I don't see how you could compare it to overwatch considering it predate it by over 5 years.

I didn't, what I mean by overwatch is a generic hero shooter with a mecha template like this:

Call me mad, but I enjoyed Front Mission Evolved. It definitely had its share of problems and the story was complete buffoonery, but there's some fun gameplay underneath it all when you were just in a Wanzer fighting other Wanzers. At least you were mostly in a Wanzer, as opposed to.... Left Alive.

The existence of this game confuses me. If it came out in 2017-2019 maybe it would make more sense. Hey look it's a cashgrab attempt at getting into the hero shooter space with an existing IP. But now? Overwatch has basically lost most of its relevance and Battle Royales are the new big thing. You're making a Gundam Hero Shooter.... now? Also over half the roster aren't even the 'hero' mechs! As much as I love grunt mobile suits myself, I don't see people having a hero fantasy over the bloody Asshimar or Methuss.

But well, I've always felt Japanese devs are ass backwards in many ways and maybe this is one of those late to the party things....

I mean the Square Enix could have outsourced work to PGI or HBs if they wanted to make a front mission game but they chose to make a big risk that they lost with LA.

But the Gundam Hero Shooter was exactly the reason why even Battle Operation 2 felt like a better choice even if the combat was basically a third person shooter
