You have no idea how happy I was when I saw that news. Legitimately, my biggest gaming regret is trading in that game way back when, not knowing it was going to be nearly impossible to get back at a decent price.

Aaannnddd another article I didn’t bother read deep into
" a step up because instead of having no kinky hair options like in Bloodborne, they have one — an afro — and an ugly one at that. "

Thinking.png

Afro=kinky?

Anyway, read some of it. It's just useless prattling from a journalist that wants to whine about shit and knows if they whine about their race then some people will listen rather than ignore them for the whiny, selfish, and arrogant asshole that they are.

And that's exactly why I didn't even bother reading it, because I knew it was gonna be filled with the same bullshit we've seen countless times

Don't "consider it". Do it!

Good. For those that suffer or have problems can get the help they need.

Fuck you and die.

Store page for the remake of Ib went up today for its 10th anniversary.

I implore everyone to buy this when it comes out in English. The amount of influence this game had on the indie video-game scene was astronomical. The amount of beautiful artwork it generated by fans alone is amazing!

Please, please look into this game if you feel your interest at all piqued.

I've never heard of it. Can you tell us more about it? I'm one of the weirdos on this forum who has a tendency to check out the wierd indies/older games.

An RPG Maker horror game about a girl, the titular Ib (Meant to be Eve but because of language issues the fan translation of it made it Ib), going to an art gallery for an artist named Guertena with her parents. She ends up getting transported to an alternate world filled with the living paintings/sculptures/art pieces of Guertena's works, most of which are hostile and deadly, and trying to find a way to escape and return to the normal world. One of the amazing things about it at the time, probably even now actually, is how many unique assets it has. But also something that endears it to players is the bond between Ib and Garry, two people with nothing in common trying to get out of an art gallery nightmare.

It was released 10 years ago as a free downloadable game and, as I said before, made a huge impact on the indie video-game scene with how well done it was despite not being a big budget game or having any monetary return for the creator. It had a similar effect like Cave Story in encouraging people to make their own indie games. You can probably still find the original somewhere for download if you want to try it, though it does show its age a bit graphically.

I'll take a look at it when I have the chance. Thanks.

How the fuck... Anyway it's been amusing to see Pokemon fans making memes about how the new starters better not evolve into humanoid Pokemon again. I didn't even know that was a thing with them, pretty hilarious. The final evolutions of the last Pokemon game's starters did look a little off.

That must’ve been a wake up call, and it’s sick to read the lengths EA and the guy who designed Halo 3 went to keep people playing. Not surprising it’s typically synonymous with MP gameplay either.

I thought the last few paragraphs were interesting too -

She suspected he was in active violation of the family rule limiting daily screen time to 20 minutes. Then she discovered him in a guest bedroom, a screen's glow gently illuminating the covers he was hiding under. The ensuing outburst left her in tears, face stinging, slumped on the floor of a nearby bathroom.

Kim concluded that her limits were unreasonably tight, borne out of a sense of guilt about her prior professional work on games and fear over their power. She was unintentionally creating an association of shame with her son's interest in the medium. Now Kim tries to embrace her children's hobby. "My son gets so excited when he talks about his Minecraft world," she said.

For clients of Infinite Screentime, Kim advises parents to play video games with their children and encourages kids to decide how long a game session should last before it starts and plan for intermissions. Kim also tells clients about the compulsion loop and how to recognize the hooks. People dislike being manipulated, she said, and simple awareness of the strategy helps control the impulse to overdo it.

No doubt shame leads to addiction since you are isolated from paternal support that it would easier to phase out something when you got group mentality just slowly getting bored of something and moving on. We have done the same thing with more addicting substances and the best way to help curb overdrinking is to have a social environment behind it.

Or do what China is doing right now and instill government control. Even if it kills several mobile games in the process

Also, the founder of Nexon has passed away. I may have hated some of your business decisions but you did what many people in my gen failed to do, make the games we want to play and make money from.

The fu-

Apparently, there are guys with 400+ hours (or even 4000+ hours) who are giving negative reviews because they claim the devs mixed entertainment with politics. But by leaving negative reviews in retaliation, aren't these guys condemning the same actions they are taking?

EDIT:
It's not just this game. Euro Truck, American Truck Sim, and This war of mine are all getting review bombed for devs supporting Ukraine.
