No, it's not. Both are valid, but neither should be exclussively presented as the norm, which is what has been happening with the heterosexual agenda (in fiction) for decades. Only when the LGBTQ was starting to get a tiny bit of exposure, beyond punchlines, vilification, and victimization, did we hear cries of agendas being pushed, as it was seen as pushing something that isn't normal and shouldn't be. It was seen as the gays not staying in their place.
Ok best way to explain this issue

Basically the position is Roy in this clip.

Now given it's Disney it will likely just be more background gay characters but also given the state of the world at present well I'd rather not have more media model itself of the approach Season 2 of Black Sails too

Ok a Major part of Season 2 of Black Sails was the show explaining why captain Flint was exiled from England.
Throughout the season they've shown him meeting with a dignitary and his wife with the implication that Flint and the mans wife had an affair while the dignitary was perfectly aware and fine with it.
This fits in with the fact Flint is on the island with a said woman now living away from the main settlement.

Near the end of the season the big revelation is actually flint was sleeping with the dignitary and was found out with the dignitary being sent to an asylum and Flint fleeing with the guys wife so they could all avoid punishment for taking part in what was illegal at the time.

The problem is the show wanted this to be the big twist. It revealed the truth and then has this long minutes long bit to allow it to sink in like it's going "Oh take that audience the big manly captain Flint is actually gay, you thought he was just so honourable and gentlemanly but no he's actually gay, aren't you shocked?" problem was my response basically was "Ok so he's gay what's the big twist now?........... wait really that's what you thought would be a shocking big twist? Really what do you take me for? Did you really expect me to be hugely in shock?"

If people want to make characters gay in media then do it but do it better than Bill from Doctor Who a character who I think announced every episode she was in at some point "I'm a Lesbian".

As much shit as I give the CW shows they kind of at least tried to do it better (Expect Supergirl)

Well, *if* John Oliver lies, it's not immediately refuted by the clips he shows, for starters
Doesn't that make it worse then? The more believable the misinformation is, the worse it is right? Like someone saying the earth is flat or covid vaccines have tracking chips, so fucking what?

Do you realise what your asking for here?

Just imagine what would happen at school if there were no 'agenda?' Can you tell me what that would look like?
I didn't realize making art and school are supposed to abide by the same principles. Also, the best teachers are the ones where you wouldn't know their political affiliation based on their teaching.

Just because people you like more are doing something, a known bad thing, doesn't mean it's right. The creator(s) of the work should have full control regardless if it's something you like or don't like.

Does it really matter if you're swallowing the blatant lie anyway?

Part of me gets annoyed that Yemeni Houthis keep breaking the ceasefire with Saudi Arabia because it is a time-waster for the Biden Admin. But then I realized these are the same people who likely got my favorite show canceled.

I am still not over it.

I would argue this was the most brilliant woke talk show ever.

The total opposite is true

Here is something things we have been indoctrinated into: the concept of numbers, human rights, altruism, the scientific method, money and trade, heliocentric orbits, metric system, the existence of male and female, history, the superiority of humans over others, property rights, using English over other languages, the very concept of writing

All this is poltical. All this was shoved down people's throat until they accepted. All of it is indoctrination. If you are a conservative, any tradition just means indoctrination. So even Christmas is indoctrination

A school without 'politcal affliation' would not exist. Because the very existence of school is political. If you magicked into being, it would teach anything because anything taught is indoctrination

All of school is indoctrination. The very concept of teaching is just formalised indoctrination. It's not a question of whether we should or shouldn't indoctrination kids. It's 'what indoctrination should we do?'

So, when we are talking about indoctrination of the populace into accepting minorities, we gotta ask the question of what happens if we dont. If don't, your doctrine is that they aren't acceptable, aren't allowed, worthy of cancelling and excommunicated. If it offends you that a minority gets centre stage in a movie, understand that it's just what you've been indoctrinated with that says that

A communist could teach the Cold War and you'd not even know they were a communist. Or they could teach about the different economic systems, giving pros and cons of each, and you might not know they are a communist. Of course, it's hard to be completely objective on things but the best teachers are the ones that are the best at that. That also teaches kids to be able to look at things from different perspectives, which leads right into social issues as well. How is letting creators have free reign over their art indoctrinating people into not accepting minorities? The most dangerous indoctrination is religion for kids because they are learning the very basics of the world while getting some heavy handled morals, beliefs, world views, philosophies, etc. that they really aren't ready to properly digest yet and it's easy to get those entangled with each other; if A,B,C and 1,2,3 are the basics of the world so most the what the Bible says (or other religious book) must be to (to a mind of a kid). I'm pretty sure it ain't school and kids tv shows/movies that are teaching kids to be hateful.

No, that's not what makes the best teachers.

Teachers develop the knowledge and critical faculties of their pupils, and instill enthusiasm for the subject. It is more powerful for a teacher to empower students to think for themselves rather than give them a fixed, "neutral" answer assumed to be right, and this can readily be achieved with subjectivity.

Okay then, so what's the problem with Disney "pushing" gayness (which they're not but for sake of argument let's say they are)? They've pushed fairy tale princesses, straight romance, good vs. evil, and 'never give up/always do your best/keep dreaming' for years. And all of this was so they could sell you shit. Why is gayness suddenly a bridge too far, or a sign that their "creativity" is now compromised?

Why is this 'pushing the gay agenda' and an interview proving it such a gotcha?

Imagine giving a neutral reading to the holocaust

Also, imagine being critical without giving any form of judgement on it. Like, not even moral one, just WW2 had x effect on the world. Or dropping the bombs on Japan resulted in x

Then... also imagine being 'neutral' on vaccines.

Way too many time, 'neutral' just means something completely different.

It's also just ignorance. I can tell you that from personal experience. Being told that something is wrong (like the exclussion of gay people from movies) when all your life you've been led to believe nothing was wrong can set certain people off, despite those people believing themselves to have no problem with gays. I used to be one of 'm. It's the mindset of 'What are you complaining about - I never saw a problem there, so why do you?'

This is of course the basis of "keep politics out of [sports] [games] [etc.]"

Politics is already in them: just the nice, safe, traditional politics of the majority.

*If* he's lying, sure.

But here you are, swallowing a blatant lie
John Oliver was lying, his episode states several states have banned CRT in schools when no states have banned it.

What lie?

It's not the only thing that makes a teacher good obviously. You teach kids the pros and cons of something and have them decide their stances, it's not giving them a neutral answer like all sides are equally right. It's not like saying the Axis powers were equal to the Allied power and the Allies just happened to win like Trunkage is insuniating. Killing millions of people is bad obviously.

Imagine giving a neutral reading to the holocaust

Also, imagine being critical without giving any form of judgement on it. Like, not even moral one, just WW2 had x effect on the world. Or dropping the bombs on Japan resulted in x

It's not being neutral on things it's giving all the information on something. For vaccines, you'd say all these people would get stuff like polio and small pox and vaccines eliminated those diseases basically. It would be pretty hard to conclude from that vaccines are equally as good as not having them. Also, you can teach them basic science like the people born before 1957 didn't get a measles vaccine because natural immunity, which is a big part of covid that's completely ignored.

Okay then, so what's the problem with Disney "pushing" gayness (which they're not but for sake of argument let's say they are)? Again, pushing anything is bad. I don't get why you think that I feel pushing gay stuff is now a bridge too far, it always was.

Yes, zero states have banned it. Absolutely zero conservative politicians writing bills and voting, shouting loudly about how they are banning CRT in schools

Is your defense for conservatives pushing these bills truly that every conservative politician was lying? Because John Oliver pointed out that they weren't actually banning CRT, because no grade schools are actually teaching CRT.

(Incidently, Rufo's blatant lie was that there isn't an agenda. It was just a minute long video of an executime talking about how she liked putting tiny amounts of gay stuff into backgrounds. That's not an agenda)
Again, pushing anything is bad. I don't get why you think that I feel pushing gay stuff is now a bridge too far, it always was.
...hey quick question, do you know how stories work?

Because you're bringing it up in this very thread. And because the '[insert whatever] agenda' was never a thing till gay people started getting more (positive) exposure in fiction. People constantly talked about tropes in movies, but as soon as gay characters started showing up it became an "agenda", signaling the supposed nefarious attempt by SJWs to ruin movies and games by putting non-straight, non-white, and non-cis people in them.

Also, any story with a message or theme of any kind has it there because the writers or whoever was in charge pushed for it to be there. Stories don't write themselves afterall. You think movies like The Terminator, Mad Max, First Blood, Alien, Aliens, and Robocop weren't pushing anything? You think those themes just happened accidentally without the writers not expressly pushing for them?

And this is why nobody believes your claims that you're a progressive: you have yet to stand up for a single progressive cause and just keep pushing to enforce the status quo like every other tradcon.

As I've said before, conservatives do not engage with media. They only consume it.
