Basically, Sony was at their best when they were the underdog.
Even though I never owned a PS3, I appreciate the shout out to all the smaller games. I can't help but feel though, that he has a bit of Rose tinted glasses in him. He has his points, but there are still smaller games out there being funded by Sony, even if it's not as much as it used to be. I'll give him credit, if I'm not immersed nor having fun, what's the point? That's pretty much how I feel about most AAA games in general.
The other problem with Sony is that they don't care about their IPs as much as they claim to do so. They only care about what's convenient and now. The same thing that happened to those past games most likely happen to the games that are coming out. We're going to talk about over all about the art and stuff, but the moment the next big thing comes out I don't know happily abandon it without any forethought or warning. They just tried to do the same thing to the PSN Network on PS3 and they had to delay that, because they had so much backlash. And they outright admitted that they refuse to back up these games or move them to a PS4 or PS5 (unless they were already ported to next-gen hardware by themselves, or third party companies with their respective games), because "no one plays cares about old games!". Which we all know is a load of crap. If that was the case, you wouldn't have ported some of those PS3 games to the PS4. You wouldn't have the PS2 classics sitting on the PSN .
