I guess you forgot about Minecraft: Story Mode by Telltale.

Clue is board game, and it did not have much of a plot, nor characterization either. Anything went with that adaption.

Also, Rampage had the humans turn in to giant monsters element removed for no reason, other than being "too silly". The movie works and did well, but it has moments that are dumber than any of the games.
The Clue movie is damn good too. I think it got away with it because all they needed to do is make a general whodunit story with trappings of the board game with the names and weapons.

I guess with Minecraft, what I would do with it would be to try to make a story that involves Steve having to build some grand project to accomplish something. Trying to embody the feeling that comes from people all working together in a server to make a giant face of their favorite video-game character within a time limit or creating a giant mecha out of blocks, those are the kinds of feelings I would think would embody a Minecraft movie and touch back with what people think of with the game. But that's not the kind of story I expect them to actually make. That's not really "action blockbuster" or "silly cheese brain" fodder that makes for wide audience appeal but there's no story for Minecraft otherwise, you'd have to make up more stuff than the live action Super Mario Brothers movie did.

WARNING! DO NOT PICK UP THE PANTS. WALK AWAY FROM THE PANTS. RELOAD SAVE AND PRAY THE PANTS DID NOT CONTAMINATE YOUR FILE.

Elden Ring players are getting soft banned for picking up pants dropped by other players.

As previously reported, players discovered a cut pair of underwear in the game. The Deathbed Smalls were meant to be part of the NPC Fia's armour set, but are unobtainable without hacking the game.

But hacks and mods cannot be used without by-passing the game's anti-cheat system. And simply owning the pants - even if obtained by another player - is seemingly enough to trigger a soft ban.

According to reports on Reddit, such as one by user Ok-Communication7125, players were unaware the pants were an unobtainable item. Even though they've deleted the item, their account is still blocked from playing online.

Another user, JeSuisLePamplemous, has contacted Bandai Namco to submit a ticket requesting the ban to be reversed. The response stated: "I would like to inform you to remove any modified data/characters in your PC unit to avoid this from recurring. As the next possible suspension may be permanent."

A further response states that deleting the item alone may not be enough to avoid a ban, unless the entire save file is deleted.

What's worse is there appears to be a culprit, named Pantsu Dealer, who will invade player's games and drop the pants for unsuspecting players to obtain, causing a ban.

Eurogamer has contacted Bandai Namco for comment. In the meantime, steer clear of any in-game underwear you might see.

Are there no limits to how far Soulslike players will go to troll others?

Seriously, why the hell remake this? You already did a remastered edition, there was nothing much a remake can add already. Sony loves smelling their own farts.

Yet they use a Gameboy game as their headline image.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor, Drill Dozer, Golden Sun series, Superstar Saga, Battle Network 5, Metroid ZM and Fusion, MegaMan Zero 3, and Minish Cap. Some good games here if true.

Sometimes I find VGC more idiotic than Kotaku.

I still have Astro Boy and Gunstar Superheroes. Two of Treasure's best games on the GBA. Honestly, putting Mega Man Zero 3 is pointless on there, because you can get the compilation pack physically or digitally on PS4 and Switch. The Collection even comes with both ZX games.

It’s basically becoming Sony’s own GTAV at this point. They won’t be getting my money for it or even a download. Game isn’t nearly that good to warrant three separate releases.

tbf, and I am far far away from a promoted of GTAV, they at least keep putting content out in the game.

Skyrim and Last of Us just shine over the visuals a bit and splat out a new one.

Wow, this looks good! And as a fellow Korean, I feel obligated to buy this game. It's great to see Korean devs finally moving away from games that's not online or mobile
A top down hack and slash! Nice! This is coming out soon! Sign me up!

Speaking of Korean devs, do you know about this game? It's still not out yet, but here's the gameplay trailer from last year if you are interested.

Umm, LSA is made by Chinese dev (says so on the description and the dev name is also a dead giveaway).

Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. is developing big-budget reboots of its Dreamcast games Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio as it taps its back catalog in search of global hits like Epic Games Inc.’s Fortnite, according to people familiar with its plans.

The two titles would be the first entries in Sega’s Super Game initiative, which the company announced a year ago as an effort to develop recurring revenue sources and build online communities around its software portfolio. Fortnite has become the role model for such games: free to play, it’s available across platforms, hosts large multiplayer contests and includes extras like vehicles, construction and social events on top of the usual combat, spurring player purchases of in-game items.

The new Crazy Taxi has already been in development for over a year and the Tokyo-based entertainment group aims to release it within two to three years, the people said, asking not to be named as the information is not yet public. It was named alongside Jet Set Radio in Sega’s annual report a year ago on a list of intellectual property assets that Sega wanted to recapitalize by bringing them up to date. Both new games are in the early stages of creation and could still be canceled, the people said.

A Sega spokesman said the company has no comment to make at the present time.

The Super Game project is led by Sega’s video game unit chief Shuji Utsumi, a former PlayStation executive, and currently includes plans for about four such titles, according to the people. The company said last year that its European studio is working on a first-person shooter Super Game and the plan was to offer “contents and services that can create a large community” and as much as 100 billion yen ($780 million) in lifetime revenue.

Sega's stock has lagged its closest competitors

Sega’s online role-playing game Phantasy Star Online 2 fits the criteria for a global multiplayer hit, but it has so far failed to stir up a thriving market with its in-game purchase offerings. The Japanese company plans to address this aspect of monetization more aggressively with its upcoming titles.

Crazy Taxi casts the player in the role of a speed-above-all-else taxi driver and Jet Set Radio is an award-winning street action game, both released for the Dreamcast console in 2000. Past installments never turned into major commercial hits but did develop a devoted fan base even as niche titles, according to Tokyo-based games consultant Serkan Toto.

“They are more like cult titles with very loud and vocal fan bases, totally different in scale when compared to Sega’s iconic Sonic series,” Toto said.

Sega is betting big on Super Games at a time when its traditional businesses of pachinko and arcade machines face dwindling audiences and waves of Covid-19 restrictions. Console and smartphone gaming represents the company’s best chance at securing long-term growth.

Sega partnered with Microsoft Corp. in November on its Super Game development, using the Azure cloud platform and potentially setting the stage for the addition of those titles to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service. Sarah Bond, corporate vice president for gaming at Microsoft, at the time said that the duo will “reimagine how games get built, hosted, and operated, with a goal of adding more value to players and Sega alike.”

I'm all for bringing back classic Sega Arcade and Dreamcast titles, but I wouldn't look to Fortnite for inspiration in these keeping constant revenue. Ironic that that they're now announcing a reboot a Jet Set Radio, when it's spiritual successor got announced last year. Sega must be trying to play catch up in that regard. I am not excited for this announcement from Sega. That only worries me further. They're going to kill these franchises if they bother with a stupid metaverse and NFTS, when no one wants them.
