Perhaps they still got some old school Japanese fight in them.
I'd like to say, "Well of course they wouldn't, that's just a stupid request and it would be stupid to do so." But... we do live in"interesting times".

Nice to see a backbone every once in a while. China, can you do everyone in the entire world a favor and piss off? You're not as powerful you like to showboat every single day of your dickless lives.

How on Earth would that even WORK? Like even if the request wasn't pants on head retarded, the fuck would you even replace it with?
I get the impression they simply want it replaced with nothing, because there’s no such thing as liberty over there.

That might have been interesting way back before the franchise was ROONED FOREVA/I lost interest.

If he keeps his moustache he'd be the first Dr to have one, and like the fourth recurring character to have one (if you count separate Masters).

Hey look, Sam Worthington gets to be in a movie again. Sorta.

I'm not even going to give this trailer the time of the day. I admit, it's been a long while since I seen Sam Worthington. How has he been? The last thing I remember him from was Wrath of the Titans.

Huh. Apparently this trailer is getting even more engagement than The Rise of Skywalker's. I mean, yeah the sequel trilogy wasn't exactly well regarded at that point, but still very impressive for a sequel to a movie from over a decade ago. Again, where the heck have these Avatar fans been hiding? Crazy.

You may be surprised to find that Avatar has quite a few fans. According to Wikipedia, it's the 2nd highest grossing film (after adjustments for inflation) of ALL TIME behind only Gone With The Wind. It's a visually beautiful movie if ham-fisted in its message. Where have fans been hiding? Well you said it yourself, it's from 2009, and unlike Star Wars or Marvel, we haven't had Avatar sequels, spinoffs and miniseries crammed down our throats every couple of months for the past decade. There's been nothing new to consume or discuss let alone rant and rave about that our constant presence might be noticeable over the past 13 years. Now we've heard there's a sequel; we're "coming out of hiding."

Honestly, I think it only gets hate because it was so enormously popular, and that's what people like to do: pick apart what the masses enjoy, and hopefully find themselves in an echo chamber for validation. Avatar doesn't do anything offensively bad, and the things it does well are done great. If someone doesn't like it, that's entirely fine, but there's almost 3 BILLION dollars in the bank that says it did SOMETHING right.

Like I said before, I do not like the movie, but I would never go out of my way to attack people for enjoying it. It's already mention, but I already saw better all the way back in 1999 at the age of 10. This sequel does nothing for me. I still have not seen the trailer.

And I'm sure James Cameron is somewhere wailing and gnashing his teeth in agony over that fact. XD

But seriously, my response was at the general incredulity that Avatar might have fans and "where the heck have these Avatar fans been hiding?"
