The company's implosion was infamous, but it's apparently still a viable concern and making billions in revenue every year. One might suppose if Neumann owned a huge chunk of it, buying him out at that sort of price might have been worth it, and we can argue that his basic business idea was sound, even if he wasn't adequately equipped to run a company.The guy is supposedly still worth $1.5 billion. Hardly a failure from what I can tell. But it is fun.
I guess it was effectively a one-company bubble, and its downfall a lot more to do with witless investors pumping unrealistic sums into it than its dodgy founder / CEO.
