I don't see why he's acting so energetic about this particular electron. It was run according to all the Standard Models, after all. Perhaps he's just hoping to decay our faith in the institutions.

Back during his reign, one of his supporters tried to excuse "covfefe" by saying that he was using an Arabic blessing. As if Trump knows a word of Arabic, or if an Arabic blessing made any sort of sense while complaining about media coverage. No, he just had a mini-stroke, and all of his followers were trying desperately to pretend it wasn't so.
Given that, I doubt any of them are going to call him out over an actual mistaken word substitution.

I heard, and this is going back to the whole "Trump can't read" debate, he doesn't actually type, he uses speech-to-text for Tweets. And he's not exactly Richard Attenborough when it comes to the talk words from his mouth. And his dentures falling out and the cocaine and Adderall incontinence, who knows what sounds he's making at any given moment.
This is more of a condemnation of speech recognition software and less of a Trump defense, but Siri, and I assume other such programs, aren’t always on point with their recognitions.
I once asked my Siri to play BYOB by System of a Down and she proceeded to call my niece, who does not posses a name anywhere close to the song title or band name.

To the surprise of absolutely no one who has two brain cells which are on speaking terms. Trump has always been in all of this for his own power and aggrandizement; he was never going to step back for the sake of the Republican party.
I hate that we're in permanent campaign mode
Hopefully he’ll split the Republican votes and/or most anti-Trump and anti-GOP eligible voters will actually get out and vote to make sure Trump doesn’t get back into office.
