That's hardly a spoiler, they put that in the trailer.Jesus dies on the cross!
...too soon?
Him coming back to life after three days, now that's the big spoiler.

I saw that book sitting on my uncles shelf when I was last there, this is the first time I've ever heard someone mention it. Is it any good?but Gormenghast is not open season, even though it was written earlier, because its less widely known.
And the sequels probably retcon everything anyway.I mean by the time the sequels out I'd certainly say the first spoilers can be ignored because they're probably already being blasted in trailers for the sequels.
The British made a teleseries based on that, which was long and rambling and weird, but don't know how true to the book it was.I saw that book sitting on my uncles shelf when I was last there, this is the first time I've ever heard someone mention it. Is it any good?
Well, Gormenghast is the second in the series, so you'd want to start with Titus Groan.I saw that book sitting on my uncles shelf when I was last there, this is the first time I've ever heard someone mention it. Is it any good?
Ok, sold, I'll add it to my reading list.Well, Gormenghast is the second in the series, so you'd want to start with Titus Groan.
Titus Groan is my favourite novel, I think it's incredible. It's a sort of absurdist gothic fantasy type thing, quite difficult to describe.
YOU MONSTER!Like how Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's dad. I would be surprised if I came across someone who didn't know that, even if they had never watched Star Wars.
It's a very interesting novel and it's one of those books where the setting is a character, this huge castle complex and the fucking weirdos who reside within it. I think it's either mentioned or implied all the weird rituals the people of the castle go through is a way to keep the residents from trying to off each other all the time.I saw that book sitting on my uncles shelf when I was last there, this is the first time I've ever heard someone mention it. Well sure, those plot points mean nothing out of context-- but presumably the reader will start that film/game/book at some point and gain the context. In which case the moment which is intended to come as a twist has been robbed of its impact. Now sometimes spoilers pop up in your feed and you can't much help it, but instead of being a crybaby about it remember that a spoiler means nothing without context. Luke being Lela's brother means nothing if you don't know who the characters are or why being siblings matters. There is a reason why trailers exist, because people know and understand that small clips and spoilers don't actually mean shit if you don't understand. Aerith getting gibbed means nothing if you don't know who the fuck Aerith is.
Not always. Because you have no context during a trailer, a lot of times you don't remember it because the details are meaningless. It just looks cool so you go see the movie. So even if someone get's shot or whatever, there is a high likelihood you would forget when actually watching the movie.Well sure, those plot points mean nothing out of context-- but presumably the reader will start that film/game/book at some point and gain the context. Hard to say. Because Aerith's death was spoiled in the trailer for FF7 in 1997. But again, it was just random shit jumbled in a trailer, so I never made the connection and certainly didn't remember seeing the trailer weeks into the game when I finally got to that scene. Can you honestly say you'd have had the same emotional response to Aerith's death if you knew she was doomed (and how) from the moment you met her on your first playthrough?
