Yeah, AH has pretty meh dialogue when it's not cringe.

My god the main character feels so American in what's supposed to be the USSR. I swear, it's like someone played uncharted and bioshock infinite and just went "Well, what if our character was a big snarky action guy like them?" despite not actually feeling tonally consistent with the fact this guy is supposed to be some high ranking soviet type.

Hmm, what kind of updates? Actual new content. Ok, fair enough. Bug fixes and such? Fuck no, clean up your mess. Or better yet, release when it's actually finished.

Looking up the game I've literally never heard of .... it was actually hard to find anythng about it lol. No major controversy one way or another that would merit dude's tweet even. Most people seem to say its janky and kind of unremarkable and possibly too long for what its got. The most glaring one seems to be that you literally can't complete the game without using a controller despite a PC release (missing a dash bind or something)

Out of context that tweet seems to be presented like "Well we're only going to patch the janky/broken stuff as part of the paid DLC", but I can't even find the in-context for trying.


As actual DLC content goes, he has largely his mainstream peers to thank for that. With the consistent presence of "roadmaps" as a way to offload selling underwhelming or smaller scale games for full price. With so many games now selling themselves as the base + a few months to a year of some sort of further content (whether that is actually delivered or not aside)

I played the demo for it before it came out. It was fine but honestly I'd played better games of the same type (Stardew valley, My time at Portia). The only idea that was remotely interesting was the whole "People turn into dogs/cats for reasons" but apparently that doesn't amount to much in the end, it's just a gameplay mechanic.

I never bought the game and I'm kinda glad I didn't if this is how SWERY is gonna act. Apparently he's said some other shit too that's a bit cringe.

Also a fun note about this review. The guy voicing Tycho has an interesting way of pronouncing Durandal that makes it sound like he's saying, "Door Handle". So Tycho is delivering the sickest AI burn I've ever seen by calling Durandal what he started out as, an AI tasked with opening and closing doors.

I get kind of a Kiefer Sutherland The Lost Boys/Tim Curry Legend feel from it, which gets my 100% approval.
