I've decided to stay away from the "woke vs anti-woke" dramas

Sometime in 2013, I came across a video called Feminist Frequency. You can probably see where this is going; I was angry and questioning the intelligence of people on the internet. I was subscribed to channels like The Quartering and followed bunch of anti-woke twitter posts and rts. Some of you probably saw my posts on these crazy woke takes in gaming/movie industries.

Since then, I followed and shared nearly every major controversial woke news. There were people who agreed with me, disagreed with me, and flat-out cutting contacts with some of them. I got angry with people calling me bigot and every "-ist" under the sun. I left a discord community, whom I thought were gonna be lifelong friends, only for them to cancel me because one of them instigated a witch hunt and turn them against me. Things did settle down, but the dude never apologized, and said "It's just a joke, I do that to everyone".

To clarify, I have a stable job, got other productive hobbies, and love to go outdoors. I didn't spend 24/7 digging up these stuff, but I do admit whenver I shared something it usually were those anti-woke stuff.

It's been more than a year since I left that discord community, and until recently I continued to watch and follow these anti-woke contents. A few days ago, I looked at myself in the mirror, and questioned what I have been doing? Are these things really worth my time, getting into heated arguements on internet with people I'll probably never meet in my life? Around the same time, policial commenters like Ben Shapiro, whom I respected for fighting against femi-nazis, started to share some really toxic takes.

So I've decided to stay away from these contents. No more Quartering, Ben Shapiro, or anyone who gives terrible takes and trying to label themselves as "true social justice". My most recent experience was with the whole Hogwarts Legacy fiasco, where A LOT of cancelations has been happening. I am just too tired to give a shit anymore. This means here on escapist forums, I will no longer be sharing/covering these types of news. I believe turning my attention and time away from these dramas is the only way for me to stay positive and have healthy mental strength.

I am actually regretting all the time I've spent on my computer being involved with these dramas

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I used to follow a number of atheists on youtube back in the day, I didn't watch a ton of their stuff, I went though my harder atheist days back before youtube was big so my main connection to online atheists was the freethink society, which tended to be much more academic. But, I unsubbed from all of them when their content became just shitting on feminists and the mythical blue haired feminist.

Really if you want someone political to watch then check out Destiny, he's good at debating, well researched, has some pretty good drama if you want that, and right more often then wrong, except about his food takes which are almost always trash tier.

There's nothing wrong with atheism (apart from it taking me three goes to spell there, even though it's spelled the way it sounds) but I do wish people didn't think it was a sign of being particularly intelligent or a freethinker. Almost 40% of Brits are non-religious, and there's some right thick bastards here.

I mean you just need to look at the atheist youtube community back when the blue haired sjw became the enemy to see atheists being thick as a brick.

Nothing wrong with what you're doing and no one is forcing you. The choice is always yours. People like Sarkeesian, Quartering, Shaprio and plenty of others are grifters and schemers who only care for themselves and their egos. You're doing the right thing.

While normally I'd read you for ever respecting Ben Shapiro, it seems like you respect yourself more and I'm down with that. A lot of people never seem able to admit when they've outgrown someone they used to respect.

I have to limit my exposure to the very online world too. It's way too easy to burn out for very little gain.

Second that. Likewise, Marx expecting people to spell "Bourgeoisie" is a bit of an ask.

Anyhoo, yeah, I've also moved away from a lot of the big dramas, and focus more on listening to people in different situations discuss how the personally fit into society.

Considering that Marx's handwriting was terrible, it's a wonder anyone could spell it in the first place. 0_0

I'm amazed anyone can listen to The Quartering without falling asleep. Even for a right wing shit stirrer, he is a really boring one.

Is he the shithead that thinks drinking whiskey on the rocks between paragraphs makes him look cool?
