But that is the problem, isn't it ?

Regularly being confronted with racism from one side and an attitude of "your problems are a secondary concern" from the other, supposedly anti-racist side makes people eventually conclude that they are on their own. And not particularly care anymore about collateral damage pursueing their interest.
I'm sure they wouldn't be so critical if (according to the news reports) it wasn't for the fact he's potentially going to give SCOTUS an excuse to blow out of the water policies that attempt to compensate for their races' societal disadvantages. Are they supposed to cheer that? Where's his ethnic minority solidarity?

No one cared about Asians having to score more points than your average white American before this. But as soon as we fight back we get called names and slurs.

There were some admin officers and Biden-aligned influencers.
Examples?

(And I don't want "Biden-aligned influencers"-- you said the administration itself was involved in this, so there must be members of the administration itself, overlooked or excused by the central authority).

Yes, but isn't the point of affirmative action to assist disadvantaged communities? Asian Americans overall appear to be incredibly successful - at least in terms of education (obviously, Asia's a big place, and potentially there are differences between Asian Americans depending on country of origin). There of course lots of sorts of other form of racism and discrimination that they face that need to be tackled.

Maybe on average but many of my friends work in low pay jobs in the restaurant industry. Try to be a first-generation immigrant like me. I was barely able to a get a desk job that paid less then what my experience, and degree entailed.

Just google it on Tik Tok. I can't find it anymore and I know you will dock me points on that, but look at this.

Asian Americans are generally successful in education because they value education more than average Americans. And because education is seen as the primary, often even only way for them to be successful in life considering the lack of generational wealth and connections and general discrimination.

But those thing also means that they are particularly sensitive to additional hurdles placed for them in this oh so important education. Or to additional difficulties when trying to convert that education into a good career. Which the difficulty of admission into elite universities basically means.

Take a look at these comment sections

Wait, what are we offended at? 3 videos are the same and all the comments I read were not about race, universities or generally anything political.

Just google it on Tik Tok. I can't find it anymore and I know you will dock me points on that, but look at this.

Part of this actually got nothing to do with race. It's got to do with money and status. Rich people can get into higher education way easier than anyone else, irrelevant of race, and usually fail in high numbers. SAT are designed for certain people with certain cultural knowledge that most people are locked out of and are a terrible indication of whether they are a) smart or b) going to succeed at university.

Asian American do not have the political capital or monetary capital to overcome this. That's what you need to get in. Getting good grades at school is useless

Affirmative Action does not remotely fix this up, as it was designed that way. It's a lukewarm milquetoast response to a broken system. And the people in power have every intention of keeping it that way.

it's why people calling professor left-wing is one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Professors are VERY into hierarchies and kicking down at those they think are lesser than them. Eg. those who dont have tenure. They get called left-wing because they have different beliefs to MAGAs even though they are generally into hierarchies. Like everything else, anything that disagrees with MAGA is left-wing/ cultural Marxist/groomers etc. It's got very little to do with their politics

Your right and your getting at a fact I have know as soon as I got into the university I was in. Professors are institutionists, they gatekeep information, power and influence. That is why people want to go to universities where rich people are since they have the networking and power. That’s why you can’t just get rid of legacies and why that is a deflection.

As for Asian not having power I disagree somewhat. ASIAN Americans don’t have power but Asian countries do via economic growth and their militaries.

As for the comment sections they were calling this guy an idiot, boring, and etc. Because he made a strategically calculated move. He knew attacking legacies would never work but AA would. He’s actually very clever for doing so he just made an error in revealing his name. That what really irked me was this BIPOC people and liberals using anti Asian stereotypes against him.

I still don't see why you're equating some shitty comments on TikTok with the attitudes of college admissions officers and Biden administration members.

It seems to me that you're irked at affirmative action, and also you've seen some unrelated troll comments on TikTok, and because you're pissed off you've lumped them together into one amorphous problem.

Which... I mean, racism is of course a massive societal problem, and your frustration & resentment is kinda understandable. But these things you've identified aren't related to one another. Affirmative action has exactly nothing to do with TikTok comment racism. And neither of them have anything to do with the Biden admin.

Some college admin officers were making videos attacking this guy on it and Biden Admin has straight up deflected on a question from Josh Hawley against Asian American discrimination in the above video.

What I am really irked by is the double standards liberals and the Biden Admin have against Asians, and how they hate us and our countries for standing up to them.

...this is the Josh Hawley who voted against anti-discrimination legislation to protect Asian Americans, which Biden passed?

The fact that affirmative action doesn't benefit Asian Americans is nothing to do with the actions of Asian countries vis-a-vis the US. It is because affirmative action was intended to raise the prospects of underrepresented groups, and Asian Americans are not underrepresented in HE.

Yes but we are underrepresented in the C-suite and in high ed a low scoring Asian who has no time for after school activities because they are helping their parents after work with translating bills or in the restaurant will get passed over, and in the US government we are so underrepresented, so much so that there is affirmative action for us in the US government. Also like in the Cold War the US needs Asian countries to fight off BRICS and before that the Soviet Union so it kinda of matters how well the US treats Asians in the US.

Also Josh Hawley is wrong on other things but not on this.

I'm a bit confused about what your preferred situation here would be. You were earlier complaining that candidates with high scores could be unsuccessful, so presumably you do believe that higher scores should improve the candidate's prospects. Are you suggesting there should be spaces set aside for lower-scoring candidates? A sort of affirmative action based on poorer performance?

, and in the US government we are so underrepresented, so much so that there is affirmative action for us in the US government.
So the government is addressing the issue you have, then?

Also like in the Cold War the US needs Asian countries to fight off BRICS and before that the Soviet Union so it kinda of matters how well the US treats Asians in the US.
The US rivalry with BRIC is in trade, growth, market share and currency; it is not a military confrontation, and is not really comparable to the cold War with the USSR.

Trade will continue to be determined by profit, convenience, and strategy. Not by meaningless bullshit like TikTok videos.

Also Josh Hawley is wrong on other things but not on this.
OK, so what incident are you referring to? Link it?

The incident is a video with Hawley in it above you. I disagree with Hawley on climate change, universal healthcare, and LGBTQ+ rights.

Also, BRICS is a trade alliance correct(right now), I guess what I am really mentioning is the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Also, there is a theory that war has moved onto social media, and it's all around via culture wars.

My solution(s) are

A. Expand Havard's Ivy League like college's, and Ivy League College's Size somewhat
B. Affirmative action poor students regardless of race
C. Lower the standards somewhat, but don't force Asian students to score higher than every other race.
D. Make Information other than dangerous stuff like making napalm-free, and universal. (Vs what the universities generally do which is gatekeep it)

Well, there are a LOT of universities places taken up by Asian (i.e. citizens of Asian countries, not Australians with Asian ancestry) students in my country because they pay 3 to 5 times the going rate. I actually have no idea if the Chinese/ Korean/ Indonesian government are involved. But they are subsiding Australians... so I always haven't known how I feel about this. They are likely taking places Australians could have.... but there are way more places due to the Australian universities screwing them over

A is completely necessary
B poor? Wrong word here, I assume. I would say that abandoning extra curricula activities (school clubs) as an entrance necessity would help. Much of the Affirmative Action has been focussed on this because universities have been using these clubs as a way to 'bump' scores up. Eg. If you go to a chess club, you score an extra 20 points. And the universities have been deliberately targeting white clubs to skirt looking at SATs
C only lower standards once A is done. The other half should be done immediately
D Actually, Youtube helps with this a lot. You can get a good education from there if you pick the right people
