I have not been excited for Diablo game since II. I kept saying I was going to play Diablo III at some point never got around to it. If I do get III, it'll be the Switch version. You can do local co-op, and not have to be always online. With the other console ports, you don't have to be always online either, but co-op is online only in the other console versions.

IV I don't see myself touching any time soon, nor at all.
Are you sure you can't play local co-op on ps4? That's wild to me if that's the case because the game is the same on the switch so that's weird. D3 is fun though.

My mistake, the other consoles versions do have same screen local co-op. The only difference is that the Switch version has the added bonus of local wireless multiplayer due to being portable.

So that dev stream was interesting. Didn't realize Diablo Immortal had enough player base to warrant a new class, but w/e.

As for the actual Diablo 4 stuff, nice to see that they were direct about some critisms, but also they kinda brushed off other stuff and pretty much said "Yeah, we're working on it". I would've loved for them to be direct about storage spaces and horse mechanic

I was hugely disappointed by the season announcement as well. I expected a gamewide mechanic the same way Path of Exile does it, like portals to a new area with special rewards, or a demonic farm, or forging system that allows for uniquely powerful weapon combinations, but instead it's a special enemy type and a new currency. PFFFFFFFFF.

In order to justify the battle pass, and the general shop they have where an armor set cost you 30 motherfucking dollars, I expected them to have some banger ideas. This aint it chief.

You crawl up to the altar of Bobby Kotick and well, you get about what you should expect. The only worse decision you could make in pursuit of not being drowned in MTs without backup value then Activizzard is if you buy something from Take Two.

Hi.
I was in the mood for a new game, one that didn't require too much challenge or frustration because it's hot and humid and my PS5 isn't in an air conditioned room. I wanted to stomp through baddies and see some grafix and level up, so I bought Diablo 4, played through the first two acts and hit level 42 cause I gotta do side quests when I come across them.
I woke this morning feeling hungover even though I only had one beer the whole time. So many colors and numbers and sort of satisfying but never quite thrilling button pushes. What a game.

I'm very bad at this game. I cannot get past my urge to do side quests as I come across them. This game has a million billion side quests that are there for XP/reknown, not so much story and world-building. But I can't help it, I need to clear quests off my map. I need to feel that my character is a good person and helps everybody out. I need to know why some old man is crying or some vendor isn't able to move his goods, even though I know it's just a demon's fault always every time.

I'm in Act 3 last night and I did some missions and my ally NPC is like "meet me in this region you haven't been to yet and hurry up it's important" but on the way there are more blue ! on the map and as I do them, more and more keep cropping up and I can't help it, I gotta do 'em!
I'm level 45. The internet tells me that enemies stop scaling with you at level 50 and there are 6 total acts left in the campaign. So does this mean I'll breeze through the end game? That doesn't seem right...

you stop leveling at 50, instead you start gaining paragon points. Enemies will scale until level 95 but after 50 you have to level up 4 times to get 1 whole level. Each 1/4th of a exp bar you gain a paragon point instead.

They said new classes are expansion level content so probably not for at least a year or two. They also said the new classes planned are not anything diablo has seen before. So probably not a holy warrior type thing for now.

Max is playing Diablo 4?!

He never even looked at any other Blizzard game.
He did play OverWatch for a good year and a half. So that's two Blizzard games. If I remember correctly, he did play a little Diablo 1, pre his YouTube career, but that's about it.

You absolutely continue leveling to 100. You stop gaining skill points at 50, and start gaining 4 paragon points / level (1 every 25%).

The enemies will cap at level 50 in world tier 1&2. In world tier 3, they cap at 70 and world tier 4 at 95.

But you continue leveling, this includes the passive stat raises per level, and the advantage/penalty of being over/under an enemies level.

Seems like this video became contentious if he's reacting this way on twitter

As for me Act Man is an attention seeking showboater imo
As far as my feelings for the guy goes, he's okay, but I don't enjoy all of his content. He does have good points when it comes to some of his other videos, while some are just a matter of perspective, or he's way off base. Him complaining about RE4R "averting sexiness and being too safe" is and was a load of shit. The sexiness is still there, but done with much more subtlety. AM just wanted everything to be the exact same thing. Also, he did not bother to pay attention to what was going with the plot, or didn't bother to read the documents and journal entries and assumed there are "plot holes".

Me from May:

There are some things I disagree with AM on. Most of the villains are not done bad, and I like both Salazar and Saddler, Yes, the radio hijacking is gone, but both remake version have different, yet familiar takes of each character. Also, Act Man, scenes with Saddler communicating aren't ''flashbacks". Saddler can telepathically communicate/locate with any Plagas infected individual. The anti-American villains theme being removed makes sense, and is clear that he didn't read or pay attention enough to the documents and diaries. The reason being (big spoilers here) Saddler is basically a puppet for the Las Plagas hivemind. He still has control, but Saddler actually believes in his cults teachings, unlike the original. Still asshole and all, but it makes sense why none of the villainous characters are anti-American (other than Krauser who hates the government for leaving him and his squad for dead). The Las Plagas hive mind wants to spread its infection for the entire world for peace. The game even drops hints at this through dialogue and journals, but Act Man wasn't paying attention and too focused on what was cut/changed from the original.

Also, Capcom ain't averting sexiness, and I don't know why he's making this weird take. Sure, it's not as over-the-top in the original, but it's still there. Did you forget about Ada's dress in Remake 2 or one of Claire's alternate outfits. The remake just does it more subtly. Another thing Act Man, of course Leon wouldn't want to be romantically involved and is more cold towards Ada. These are not the exact same characters from the original. You're dealing REmake 2 Leon's attitude and trauma, not the original. Ada's betrayal hit him hard, and is done more realistically. While Ada is colder, it makes sense from her perspective as well, but she still cares for Leon. Did you forget about Remake 2 again? You even discussed Leon's more believable character transition from RE2R to RE4R. AM does admit nostalgia bias for some of these, but that doesn't excuse not paying attention, nor bothering to fully remember what happened in the last game.
As for his actions right now, he would have been better off just ignoring the who disagree or don't like his opinion, than being a biatch on twitter about it. Either have an actual discussion with your audience or those that disagree with you, or don't bother to say anything and move on to your next project and shut up.

A lot of his points are correct in this video but others clearly stem from his obvious lack of experience with ARPGs. So it is a little bit misguided because he only played the story and didnt really see the game. Because lets face facts, diablo games have never been about the campaigns, they are about the grinds for loot. I think most ARPGs are like that.

I dont think anything he said was too far off base though.

I have not seen the video yet, and only posted it. Regardless of his feelings on the game, I'm not touching it anyway. But thank you for the info.
