We spent the weekend in Oklahoma for my gf's class reunion. It was fine mostly, but she'd been banned from attending the gathering at a cheese and wine bar because she didn't want to disclose her credit card and social security number through CashApp to RSVP, and contacted the venue directly about other options to register. The conversation was amicable, i.e.: no harsh words, threats, or otherwise volatile exchanges, but the organizer for the reunion event found out, took offense, and literally banned her from coming. We went anyway (can't ban someone from a public venue,) just stayed out of the reserved area for the reunion, and all of her classmates came out to see her and visit. They all agreed the organizer had overstepped his authority, and went out of their way to shove his own senseless snub in his face. He visibly wasn't happy, but that made the polite victory all the sweeter. AND we dodged his $25/person registration fee; it was awesome; paid for our own drinks (there was four of us, so $100 would have been required, but we made it out with a $50 bar tab instead,) enjoyed the old friends, and left. In yo' FACE!

So, this popped in my feed the other night. Flight attendant hams up the pre-flight safety demo.

Credit where it's due, the guy actually manages to win back people's attention for something that they usually tune out.

Edit: Embedding didn't work, so switched to hyperlink

Our cat is a biter and a scratcher. I've embraced it. He doesn't do any damage, but petting him usually turns into his flipping on to his back, grabbing your arm and attacking your fingers. My gf gets mad when I praise this behavior, telling him, very enthusiastically, to "always choose violence!" Welp, today, all of my training has paid off. Our friend brought her dachshund/chihuahua mix over for some socialization, and when the dog was laying peacefully under the kitchen table, I could see my cat in the ready to pounce position. I said "CHOOSE VIOLENCE, NOLAN!!" and he leapt into action running up to the dog and delivering several harmless swats to the dog's head, then proceeded to chase the dog throughout the house. I'm so proud of my boy, and my gf is so mad at me because she thinks I've actually somehow trained him to be this way. So I bought this sign, and it's in our front window.

Funny to think a couple of months ago, you couldn't pay enough to want a cat, and now, I can't imagine a life where I couldn't literally sick an attack cat on another living being.

EDIT: The cat and dog actually get alone famously; neither has been harmed in their interactions, and they enjoy each other's company.

More Formula 1 humor lost on most of you, I'm sure, but deal with it; it made me smile so it qualifies. Context: Max Verstappen is the most dominant driver in F1 right now. Jos Verstappen is his father, and has been notoriously hard on his son since his youth. There's a story that once, after Max lost a karting race as a child, Jos abandoned him at a gas station. And this is just a brilliant play on words.

Now for somethings completely different:
