I got a grip for my 3DS XL to make it more comfortable to hold
Which one? I might consider getting one eventually after going back to play it and realizing it's not quiiiite as comfortable as it used to be in my younger days

OSTENT Flexible Bracket Holder Handle Grip for Nintendo New 3DSLL/XL Console Video Game https://amzn.asia/d/ds6NUcW

I got this one. It’s fine, for $14 it would need to stab me in the hands to be not worth it. In fact one thing it does do is makes it impossible for me to accidentally hit the power button - which is a massive deal if you’re just playing DS games - and lose unsaved data. Looking at you, Pokémon Black 2

They do warn there may not be keys for some of these games! So, no Budget Cuts 2!!! They write they may get more later. I'll check back.

Steam got me again. After 4 years, Half Life Alyx in VR was only $20ish.

I gotta stop buying and start winning some of these things!!!!

EDIT: Tried it out and holy moly is it incredible looking. I've got brand new MQ3 titles like Arizona Sunshine 2 which look great but are not in the same league as this game!!! And I'm blown away that the MQ3 can deliver this quality of graphics.

Oh hey same, I move in to my new place tomorrow. Good luck on the move!
Mid-February for me. Good luck to you too.
Congrats to both of you. Huge achievement these days. Where I am, housing has gone through the roof and my kids are trying to save enough to get someplace. I visited my cousin in a nice town. They told me that 1st time buyers in the area are advised to have a combined income of about $600K US annually. They're asking me, how on Earth can they ever expect their children to be able to one day live near them (as long as they stay put anyway). I think we're going to see a lot more inter-generational homes in the near future than we already have now.

Oh, uh... I only realize now how "buying an apartment" can sound different than what I thought it my head.
Yeah, no, I'm still renting x.x Yaaayyy
Still an achievement and a giant step towards adulting. An apartment in my area is averaging around $2,600 US a month for a 2 bedroom. Takes a lot to bite that bullet.

I'd been renting the same apartment for 9 years before the new landlord came in and wanted my space... bleh. So I got to do the search for a (thankfully) brief time and re-experienced a move. The new place is quite nice. Half the size for nearly double the rent (since I'm no longer on a legacy-tier rental agreement), but I've made it work with some much needed downsizing. Went to my old place to start cleaning it up and boy did it ever put into perspective of how much of a hole my old apartment was. I knew that already, but once you are no longer used to it and you start really picking it apart for cleaning... yeesh

I ended up getting the new Samsung 57' G9

While I know justification isn't needed, I have a couple reasons outside of gaming that I need it. I work on a bunch of applications at work, largely at once. I'm probably running 10 or more at any given moment. I have 20-15 vision and I actually want the font and windows as small as possible. I'm really kinda struggling to manage screen space one my current 49" G9, I ended up adding a second 32" monitor, but that causes me all kinds of frustration with window management when going to sleep or playing games. I also have to turn my neck constantly which is annoying. I've been wanting to build a cockpit gaming rig for Mechwarrior and racing games for a while so I'm gonna repurpose my G9 for that. Theres an outside chance my work is gonna reimburse or partially reimburse me for it anyway.

I picked up Zombie Army 4 as my friend was hassling me about co-op games and we randomly settled on it since it's only like $8 on steam atm. Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play it's Piscian18

I bought Baldurs Gate 3. Idk finally in the mood for a western RPG since I'm finishing up Blue Dragon tonight.

OMG am I Jelly to the max!!!! The Samsung 57" G9 is on my radar!!!! I'm currently on a 39" Vizio TV 1080p 60 hz for my main monitor and its better than my old eyes deserve! I have a 32" 1080p 75 hz Philips curved side monitor too. RX 6750XT to drive it all. BG3 is a serious game also on my radar. Just got and started Divinity OG Sin 2 which is sorta a pre-historic version of that game. That is a crazy advance! Again, very jealous! Enjoy.

Gotta write, this sorta thing is still attractive...

Got a new office chair.

The fake leather on my old chair started to peal, which means it had about another 2 months before it was going to start looking like The Toxic Avenger. I have sworn off of fake leather chairs.

The new chair is very ergonomic and adjustable and the materials feel surprisingly high quality. In terms of materials it feels almost as good as the Herman MIller Aeron chair I had at work, but at 1/5 the price. I wish the seat was a little deeper (I have very long legs) and I'll probably need to get cushions for the arm rests as they're pretty rigid, but the seat and back are very comfortable. If anyone is interested this is what I got.
