In Mortal Kombat 1, whenever Kitana does a Brutality, she poses with her fans...with one exception. If you do the Brutality involving her Fan Toss special move, she does the same pose, but this time with only one fan, since the other is embedded into the skull of her opponent.
Idk where I heard it (probably MK’s Reddit) but somehow Johnny acquired Kenshi’s Sento sword and has it mounted on his wall in his mansion stage, but when Kenshi fights Johnny there the sword is missing…because he’s using it.

In Half-Life: Alyx, you're faced with an invincible threat which hunts by sound. A number of fungal growths dot the areas you encounter it in and also cover the threat, emitting spores which will cause Alyx to cough. You're expected to hold your hand over your face while crossing through the spores... or you can simply don one of several ventilation masks left lying around.

Once you get Saga's Chapter 3 in Alan Wake II, you can switch between her story or Alan's story any time in a save room. A nice little background detail about Saga Anderson, is early on you find out her mother is Swedish. While so far you never see her husband or daughter (so far) you're able to hear what they sound like in some phone conversations. Saga's daughter definitely has an American accent while Saga's husband has a clear Swedish accent. I appreciate the details Remedy put in.

In Devil May Cry 5, each character has a special taunt called 'EX Provocation' which has a particularly long animation in exchange for being worth a lot of points if you somehow manage to do the entire thing. Vergil's EX Provocation has him summon his Doppelganger, who begins dancing, much to Vergil's chagrin. If you use this against the final boss, they will stop attacking and dance with the Doppelganger, allowing you to perform the whole taunt for free. Considering that, actual spoilers, said final boss is Dante, it makes sense that he would indulge Vergil's repressed silly side.

In Ghostrunner there's been many a time where falling to my death would sometimes catch on an innocuous part of the background, triggering an unintentional wall-run the last nanosecond before failure, where, if I ran back to my controller fast enough, could haphazardly climb this sorry ass back to safety through a panicked combo of slo-mo mid-air dashes and overly generous wall-running. Crazy cool unexplainable.maneuvers have been pulled off, all of which I totally meant to do, no am not taking requests to do them again.

(Oh crap I only just realised the sword skin menu's had 2 whols other tabs of shiny pretties all this time! 👀👀👀)

The world Timeless River in Kingdom Hearts 2 is based on the classic 1920s Disney shorts, and takes place a hundred years before the main story (time travel). The entire world is in monochrome, and the HUD's colors are washed out; not to the point of unreadable, but enough to be noticeable. Donald and Goofy assume their original character designs, while Sora gets his KH1 costume back and his face and build make him look like an Osamu Tezuka character. Also, since stereo sound wasn't a thing in that era of filmmaking, let alone animation, the game's audio plays in mono even if you have a stereo or surround setup. More than just a cheeky nod to the birthplace of animation as we know it, the above-and-beyond details raise Timeless River to one of the game's best worlds.

In the final mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), after a long firefight, the final boss is defeated by tying a steel cable around his neck and dropping him through a skylight, effectively hanging him to death. Even after his neck snaps, though, he's still twitching for about thirty seconds, and the 'Objective Completed' text doesn't appear until he's completely stopped, and your character is certain that the target's dead.

Perhaps not insignificant as assumed, but the feel of Metroid Dread's movement controls is so fucking tight, cathartically tactile perfection especially as abilities unlock later on. Am not sure any other metroidvania, critically acclaimed or otherwise, has yet come close. Dead Cells maybe, but it still lacks that hypnotic taiji dichotomy between sense of weight and ninja sci-fi zippiness. Certainly not last month's Trinity Fusion at least, though it was a worthwhile effort nonetheless.

Was replaying Dragons Dogma and one of the earlier missions is to go down a well and destroy a lizardman nest with the idea to make sure they don't over run the village. The lizard men are biggins, wield spears and have a spit attack that causes poison. Now in the mission you can burn the eggs with, bombs, medieval molotovs or fire magic is your into them magics.

Fun observation when the eggs are on fire the lizardmen will use that spit poison attack on the eggs to douse out the fire. I did multiple times like the AI will ignore trying to fight to prioritize saving the eggs.

Weird how simple small details like that can add to the gaming experience and the world being realized and lived it in while everyone rushes for the most realistic skin pores.

I say as a hypocrite who loves Horizon which is skin pore porn.

A nice little detail from Double Dragon Gaiden is that only Billy and Jimmy can grab and pick up weapons off the ground. All other characters can't because they either have some type of weapon(s) on them, and they're already powered up. What you would Marian need a pipe or knife for, when she's already a walking arsenal? Also, whatever boss you choose last, either changes their appearance, gets an attack and defense boost, and will have new attack patterns. Aside from Duke, he just gets beefed up robotic attack dogs.
