So, social media is basically so radioactive right now that its servers could probably be converted into power plants. A lot of hand wringing because it seems demonstrably proven that the Democratic National Convention couldn’t organise a bunk up in a brothel even when they cheat. I don’t know enough about how US candidate selection works to know if it was illegal or just party room chicanery that’s legal but makes you look like a knob.

Whatever, your side fucked it Democrats, fucked it like they paid for it with someone else’s money. So, big two questions: which poor unfortunate soul are you going to start prepping for 2028 - seriously it weirds me out how little time actual governance seems to occur - and are you going to take a big old look in the mirror about all this or are you too scared your own visage will turn you to stone?

But you started it off framing it in personal terms, "me", "I", how bad *you* felt.
There was just an overwhelming expression of hate towards a demographic to which I belong. So, yes, on some level I feel vulnerable and disliked, as I did when I experienced discrimination firsthand. Sorry for trying to express self-loathing and depression, I guess, whatever you want me to say.

Indeed. Imagine how Muslims felt when Kamala brought Cheney to Michigan. Then ponder how she could have lost.

I'd just accept you seeing past your own nose.
I'm hardly going to take a lesson on empathy from you, now, am I? Your response has been exclusively vitriol. You would 'accept' nothing. It's not enough for people to lose and express despondency or vulnerability; they must be repeatedly insulted, denigrated, shamed. You're showing not the slightest hint of empathy beyond your own damn nose: all that matters is the attack.

That's because I don't particularly believe you. Or if it is genuine, it comes after telling people to vote for the party actively killing their friends and family and it hasn't hit you what you've been asking people before now.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
In what way can't democrats govern? Biden was fantastic at getting legislation through. Democrats just can't brag about what they do since they have a sense of decorum. Which is a huge hinderance in this world. Republicans will shout victory from the rooftops if they manage to shit in the toilet, but democrats could solve world hunger and they wouldn't be allowed to talk about it more then 3 days.

K. Believe what you want. I didn't start this particular exchange seeking confrontation, and it's been met with fucking intense hostility. I don't have the energy. I'm going to bed.

I started cordial enough, until it became "me, me, me"

It's time like this that I am glad to be a casual voter.

Because let's face it, both side love to be toxic just to spite the other, especially when it comes to their supporters. I mean Seattle already had some chaotic protest:
*WA is generally a democrat-supporter state, FYI.

I have a feeling this is only the beginning, and we might see another insurrection and people acting stupid.

All I gotta say is, if you hate current-state America so much, you have three choices:
  1. Keep complaining, make angry posts on reddit/facebook, or protest that isn't gonna go anywhere other than jail when you take it too far
  2. Become a politician or run for the presidency yourself, which I'm pretty sure you are too lazy to do so
  3. STFU and try to make the best of it.
I have been going with option 3 all these years, and guess what? It has made my life so much easier. Leaving poltics out of conversation just brought so many people together. It also helped me to figure out which people to weed out from my life

You think wages are going to go up under "let's joke with Musk about firing unions who strike" Trump? Violent crime has been going down for years; wages and housing costs have a lot to do with fallout from COVID (and I won't pretend that there's a whole lot Trump could've done about some of them). As for the public unrest, a whole lot of that seems to be coming from the right.
I think real wages are likely to rise regardless of the president, as we should be approaching the end of the economic correction from pandemic spending, so long as we don't blowout spending again.

I actually respect the voices of the restless and the protestors in most situations, I consider lack of them to be a sign that things are going well. I'm not blaming sides for protests, even when the protestors support the wrong things, chances are they are upset about real problems. Now, the people who support riots and claim they are a valid form of protest are idiots.

Yeah, Sanders is going about the democrat abandoning working class. But Biden went to fucking bat for them, yet union leader couldn't be bothered to even endorse him (and they went to GOP convention). He literally spent billions creating new jobs, in mostly red area, and they couldn't give a fuck or literally didn't know. It's like the old saying of "I was on food stamp and the government didn't help me!".

I think the message is clear, good governance is worthless. If Biden had just taken all that money he spent on propping up jobs and just sent everyone a check with his big ol grin on it 6 months before the election, knowing full well it would fuck things up down the line, things might have turned different.

GOP is all in on message and 0 on accomplishment, and that seems to be the winning model.

Above everything, the dem need to stop saving red state from themselves, stop the transfer of cash from blue to red state, let the GOP state hop out of FEMA and other program like it. Voter need to be reminded what the government (and the actual adult in it) actually do for them and what voting red down the ballot actually means.

Democrats look in the mirror lololololololololololololololol

They're already blaming people like me who voted Third Party even though the math literally shows that if every single third party voter voted for Harris (even the Libertarian Party Third Party voters who obviously would never vote Harris), she STILL got her ass absolutely handed to her by Trump and The Republicans.

The best case scenario is they pull an Obama or Biden and lie about wanting to do some cool lefty shit, even if they don't actually mean it, just to try to draw people back in. Worst case scenario they'll double down and somehow manage to swerve even farther right than they currently are now. Either way, I'll see all the people who pay attention to politics every four years next time when I'm once again told this is the most important election of our lifetime so hold your nose and vote for the Republican Lites but NEXT time...

(Assuming there is a next time for getting to vote of course)

Yes it very much is unreasonable. You can fuck off with this statement right away. Is this some new pivot for you or something, because this has the conservative stink of 'women can't make these decisions' all over it.
What’s with the extreme attitude? Did I not mention the importance of bc, as if that isn’t also a choice would-be mothers can make proactively? Or how about emergency contraception/morning after/rape kits for trauma survivors? That’s what hospitals are there for. If the sanctity of an innocent life means nothing to you simply because it wasn’t born yet, then that’s your choice. But again -

Just like any one of his patients has a choice, it’s your choice not to bother listening to this guy’s thoughts on the subject, while clearly having more experience with it than most any other guy ever would. When you can hear a heartbeat at 8-10 weeks, grabbing/sucking pieces of a kid out of a womb until there’s nothing left…no amount of posturing can spin that as anything but barbaric, let alone inhumane. Call me crazy or tell me to fuck off all you want if I find it difficult to rest well with my conscience. As a human being I’d imagine it at the very least to be the same for any woman and their unborn kid who’ve gone through the experience, however casual or dire the circumstances might’ve been.

Thats because people that do that are scum who pretend to care about issues but really only care about feeling a smug sense of superiority over not voting for someone who could win and want to do some bullshit protest vote while we lose the supreme court even more, just like in 2016.

L to the O to the fucking L

Your candidate got the shit kicked out of her. Instead of listening to the warning sirens "scum" like me were sounding off for the past year or so, Democrats chose to flip us the bird, say they don't need us, and then are shocked when they get their teeth kicked in at the polls.

It's amazing how little we are needed and not worth even considering giving any concessions to before the election but as soon as the election is over with, it's all our faults for DARING to not get down on our knees and insert the entire shaft of The Democratic Party into our mouths. We are simultaneously the least powerful and most powerful voters in the entire nation.

But hey, instead of reflecting and wondering if becoming Republican Lite is actually a bad idea, go ahead and start with the doubling down now. I'll see you in four years when you start paying attention to politics again to yell at us about how we're not worth catering too because you'll just get a bunch of Republicans to vote for The Democrats instead.

Cool. Seems totally like someone who should be given unchecked power.
A miserable life of pain and regret to anyone who voted for this.
...

Mike Davis, a Republican lawyer whom President-elect Donald Trump reportedly considers a candidate to serve as attorney general in his second administration, celebrated Trump’s election with some pugnacious and even disturbing rhetoric on Wednesday.

“Fuck unity,” declared Davis on X, formerly Twitter. “We have the votes. And they tried to kill Trump.”

In a follow-up post, Davis said the following:

Here’s my current mood: I want to drag their dead political bodies through the streets, burn them, and throw them off the wall. (Legally, politically, and financially, of course.)
