Every time there was a delay, the fanbase wailed and rent their clothes in protest. Now they've gotten what they wanted- a rushed and broken game.

This is why I don't preorder. I'll wait until GSC can patch the game up.
Don't forget death threats!~ (I don't think this tweet is available anymore)

Aside from how CP2077 release turned out, you'd think there would be more rational people who know videogames aren't worth taking extreme measures.

Yes, delays are probably better for releasing games in top quality, but too much of it seem to lead to development hell.

Oof, this one hurts to hear. I guess not every new studio found by veterans of the industry doesn't always work out
It feels like they never work out tbh, and even when they release a game it's nowhere near as good as the games that made them famous so to speak.

It's like the magic is both the time frame in which that great game was made, but also the combination of the team around them putting it together.

Yes.
And also the media landscape, culture, and other things going on that make ready its reception.

The cliche of trying to capture lightning twice exists for a reason...

  • Forced PSN account. Again
  • Asking for $60 for around 8 hours of content
  • Not very appealing in general
Sigh... It's like Sony deliberately tried hard to fail. And keep in mind LEGO games always had fair amount of praises and fan-bases.
That's a shame because this game is actually pretty cute and fun. It is stupidly short though.

Yes, LEGO games tend to be charming, light-hearted, and fun to play. And from the looks of it, this game is no exception.

But asking $60 for such a short experience, on top of PSN account requirement, definitely seem to turn people off. And when I say "Not very appealing in general", I mean that other LEGO games in the past have been their light-hearted take of well-known IPs; Star Wars, DC, Marvel, LOTR, all have been huge part of culture long before since Horizon. Hell, I'd say even Fortnite is more in-culture!
