what? They are rereleasing Overwatch 1?
As I understand it it's a time-limited special mode, though it might also be testing the waters for an actual 'reject V-bucks, return to gacha'. Though, even if they did release Overwatch Classic, going by how WoW Classic turned out, I give it a year or so before it's unplayable again.

You wonder why they even bother.

You know, I always wondered why MS never tried to break into handheld consoles. Is it because they figured they aren't gonna beat Nintendo?

If so, I don't know why they would try something like this in this day and age
Generally, handhelds required separate development teams due to their unique specifications and architecture, which often differed from contemporary consoles and PCs . Supporting both a traditional home console and handheld with software is a very tall order, one that Microsoft was never in the position to fill and one that I'm certain Nintendo is happy to no longer have to fill either.

Microsoft has never really been in a position within the home console market where they had the headroom to take on a second front on the handheld market. During the Xbox and X360 days they were busy trying to get a foothold within the home console market and they have been on the backfoot ever since the Xbone fumble in 2013. Let's not forget that during the X360 days when they were trying to compete in the home console space with Nintendo and Sony, the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP were thriving in the handheld space; not a very inviting situation for a third party looking to enter.

However, the landscape of handheld gaming has evolved significantly in recent years. Handhelds aren't as different from home consoles or pcs and don't require seperate development teams as much as they did in the past. It is now much easier to just run your home console game on a handheld with all graphical settings dialed down, also after a decade game streaming is becoming more accepted than ever before, making it relatively easy for them to provide software for a future handheld device. It helps that they bought a large chunk of the industry, so they should have enough development studios if they actually wanted software specifically catered for their device.

Good lord, I hope this is just a rumor. I mean I love DS3, I loved the two DLCs, but I also don't want fromsoft and Bandai Namco to fall to the same trend that's been happening. Unless it's gonna bring some MAJOR graphical enhancements and offer the new version for free for current owners.

Also, if I get my account unbanned. It's been 5 years!

FROM probably doesn’t have anything to do with it.

Buy them and make them make Bloodborne 2!!!!

They’ve had the chance all this time, that it would be hella ironic if it happened then.

Luke put ER dlc in the background but did he mention that FROM owns the rights now (I didn’t watch)? Also Sekiro apparently. But somewhat ironically Sony/Tencent own 14% of FROM IIRC so ehh.

Its weird, half the news about Sony are that they're doing poorly and barely hanging by, and then this, they wanna buy Kodokawa (which is much bigger than just From soft). So I guess Sony is still doing okay?

Fyi, Steam autumn sale starts next week

Aw, wanted to put in a countdown timer, but I suppose the forum doesn't support that without coding one in. The old forum did, at least until shit started breaking. Guess that's one thing it had over the current one, aside from I guess the badges, and of course the Big Red Button.

Well remember that Sony is primary an electronics business.
I once had their movie division as a client and they're just really squirrely about how each division influences each other. They're also real jealous of each other- I remember them complaining about how they wish they were as popular as their PlayStation counterparts and how great it would be to reach the audience share they have.

Obviously this is just one anecdote but it just means I'm not gonna be surprised by anything with that company.

Oh good. I was looking to re-purchase CP2077 after my GOG Galaxy copy went to complete shit on my end. The platform also struggled to repair the game.

Also been waiting sales on SH2R and Metaphor

If Trump fights this over foreign companies being anti-consumers. He will be a gaming hero. Where's Baron Trump when you need him. I know he does something with all of that free time he has due to secret service.

STALKER 2 reviews are out, and the critics aren't too positive

So the gameplay itself is great, but apparently it's a crap launch, so much so it needs more patches.

I think devs should get some slacks here. With covid-19, studio split up, Ukraine/Russia war, they had plenty of good reasons to why release the game in such state. Unlike certain publisher giant that we know who willingly and knowingly release their games in crap state.

Then again, I feel they could've gone with delays.

I understand there's circumstances, but they should just done that first place. Because now it's another case of wait till this game is fully patched two or three years later and it is at the state it should have been at the start.

OK, just to be sure, you all know Sony's acquisition of Kadokawa is not about From Software, right?

Honestly, I would've been disappointed if it wasn't jank and buggy. Too much polish would disrespect its slavjank heritage. I remember what the original Stalker was like at release, numero 2 can't possibly be worse.
