Yeah, same for me, but if people like @FakeSympathy are happy or excited then more power to them. There are plenty of non-Souls games on the market for us to enjoy.
Dont get me wrong. It's not that i DONT want another Nioh, but that's kind of the point. I want more Nioh, not another game that's kinda like Nioh but not really the same.
I think that's where a lot of these games kind of go wrong. They approach things as trying to create another XYZ instead of just making a good game that might have familiar elements to XYZ. All that ends up doing is makes players aware of the fact that they are playing what basically feels like a knock off of a game they actually like.
Lies of P being a rare exception. Though I don't think Lies of P is nearly as good as Bloodborne.
All understandable. I get it, but that is why I focus only on the games that interests me. You don't have to play every single game. I apperciate the effort and perspective though.
Some people did make the mistake of P, thinking it would play exactly like Bloodborne. When it reality, it takes more from Sekiro on the gameplay front.
I am just waiting on Phantom Blade 0's release date. I am interested in the game. It takes more inspirations from Metal Gear Rising than Ni-Oh or Sekiro, which is why I am interested. The only thing it takes from Souls games is just in level design.
Yep. So many of these soulslike games try to re-capture what fromsoftware did. Due to them leaving such major impression in the industry, I don't think no game can ever escape "but it's not as good as <Insert a soulsborne game here>" sentiment.
And if a game tries a bit too hard on trying to stand out, it makes me hard to comment whether that game is "good".
Take Salt And Sanctuary for example; probably earliest game to incorporate souls gameplay with a metroidvania, as well as having a branching skill tree. It's a really awesome approach, and I do like this game, but there are so many things that annoys me. The covenant-specific sanctuary mechanics, the dodging space restricted to left or right side, or god forbid the fall damage. That took such a long time to get used to. And now when I'm playing more casual metroidvania games, I sometimes unknowningly stop my progress because I don't want to take the leap of faith to end up dying.
A good soulslike game is really hard to come by; Probably more than people realize. Instead, we end up with lots of mediocre ones like Mortal Shell, Steelrising, Thymmesia, or The Lords Of The Fallen.
Or it could all be subjective, and people are free to hate or love whatever games they want. I only ask to have legit reasons to do either
I know you're ribbing on how little info there is, meanwhile, this announcement had literally the only thing that was make or break for me with the full backwards compatibility with Switch carts.
That's why I got a PS5, too. I skipped the PS4 Pro to get the enhancements plus a few newer titles for the 5, and while the 'Switch Pro' per se doesn't exist, I'll probably end up getting a Switch 2 at some point once there's a few new titles out, while still having my entire old collection available. Win/win.

This news of course is getting lots of attention in that subreddit. And all the comments are expressing how disappointing this news is for essentially being a nothingburger.
I just hope they get the elden ring remedy one day. Because my god, ER subreddit was a desolate wasteland before the gameplay reveal in SGF 2021. But after that, everyone returned to being humans

This is why it's important to have a target release date and not reveal a game so soon. You don't know what's gonna happen.

This is the crap I called out since the start of this generation. But some people wouldn't listen or going about how that's just a system. While it’s only a rumor for now, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was true; They have been radio silent ever since Godfall, and I don’t think anyone really would’ve bought their new game

Yeah I had completely forgotten about it until I saw this news, which itself is already one week old as of this reply. That's how forgetful this game was.
Not sure if this is on the studio or maybe PS on not supporting them, but 4 years is a lot time to do something. Anything
