this only the second link otherwise lovely images will have to be sacrificed and I can't be imposing walls of texts like that upon you gentle decent folk
It's amazing that basically every generation has to learn this lesson. You'd think 5000 years of recorded history hasn't yet taught "boots>all else" for taking and holding territory.

RFK Jr's commissioned report on 'Making America Healthy Again' contains references to at least 7 studies that simply don't exist, and lies about the content of others.
This screams "Written by AI". Because LLM AI just matches words that are usually found together, it makes up titles that sound appropriate for the subject area and often links in the names of authors that tend to be found in the subject area, thus hallucinating non-existent papers.

Suitably vague and subjective.
And casting for beloved characters hasn't always been extremely controversial? Michael Keaton as Batman ring any bells? And that was before the internet and social media.

Probably written by AI. Also, where were you with all the covid misinformation? Just going along to their tune even though they had no actual science to back any of it up. The US JUST THIS WEEK FINALLY stopped recommending covid vaccines for young people when the rest of Europe did that ages ago. Then, you posted that horribly unscientific study about seed oils being healthier than butter.

Real picture's far more complex than that...and far older than the information age. Remember the US/NATO conception of a modern, practical fighting force boils down to one and only question: "can we maintain air superiority against the Soviet Air Force, and stall out a Soviet Army advance, long enough for our strategic bombers to drop their nukes?". Every doctrinal and logistic question was ancillary to that one, because it was the foundation for Western hyperfocus on force multiplication and projection.

? Of course it has often been controversial. How is that relevant?

We were talking about how you consider it racism if casting directors look for actors of a certain ethnicity, but you simultaneously believe casting directors should favour one ethnicity over others if it matches past depictions you happen to like.

Probably, yes. How fucking pathetic and deceitful is that? But I'm sure we'll have some limp whataboutism shortly....

Why was Hamilton okay in your eyes?
It was not even attempting to be historically accurate and it's a musical, it was doing it's own thing completely. For example, if you're making a Star Trek show/movie with iconic characters, people expect the iconic characters to be in-line past characters. However, if you're doing something Star Trek adjacent like say Galaxy Quest or The Orville, nobody is going to care. Or if you do something in Star Trek itself and it's completely different in tone and style (like say Lower Decks), no one will care either. Stuff like Snow White or The Little Mermaid are just straight up remakes trying to recapture what the originals did with the same story and tone.

When you have iconic characters, people care a lot. If someone like Michael Keaton as Batman is gonna get backlash, you think changing a character's race/gender isn't? People have an image/idea of exactly how these characters are supposed to be in their heads, and they want any interpretation of that character to be as close as possible to that. People are even that way with books when there's not an actual image existing of that character. There's no reason to change Mario from being an Italian plumber to anything else just like there's no reason to change Blade from being black to being anything else. Sure if you're doing some alternate reality / what if / multiverse thing, that's fine but the real Mario or Blade are what they are. Some ongoing characters like James Bond and Doctor Who are always getting new actors and reinterpretations but most are not.

Probably, yes. How fucking pathetic and deceitful is that? But I'm sure we'll have some limp whataboutism shortly....

.... There it is! Sure, someone coming to a conclusion you dislike is juuuuust the same as someone outright fabricating studies and lying through his teeth.
They aren't going to be changing anything regarding ADHD and pyschotherapy because though would be impossible to get actual evidence-based research on that stuff done in the time RFK Jr is in charge. Why are you guys worrying about this stuff?

There was obviously no evidence that masks worked (they even made KIDS wear masks OUTSIDE!!!), the CDC director even posted that masks were literally better than a vaccine (that literally happened), there was obviously no evidence that 6 feet distance meant anything, there was obviously no evidence that everyone needed to get the covid vaccine (natural immunity has always been a thing for like every virus ever), there was obviously no evidence schools needed to be closed, there was obviously no evidence that vaccines stopped/slowed transmissions, etc, etc, etc.

This shit happened because of "science"!!!

Iowa's Republican Senator responds to concerns about Americans getting kicked off of Medicaid with "Well, we are all going to die".

So why the big stink about abortion, if we're all going to die?

I never said it wouldn't get backlash-- though if the backlash is solely focused on the actor's ethnicity when it doesn't even matter to the character, I'm going to care a lot less.

Is backlash a reason not to do something, then? Keaton shouldn't have been Batman?

Ah, so your defence of RFK rests on the assumption he can't influence his own department.

Hmm. Did it, though? I can find nothing about this except for Reddit, and the second shot appears to be quite poorly photoshopped. And you're extraordinarily gullible.

You mean other than literally every study and article about how airborne viruses propagate, since the discovery of how airborne viruses propagated. In the face of a novel SARS outbreak about which we knew nothing up to and including long-term effects on the body, the closest comparison to which was, you know, SARS. Which quite obviously, was an airborne virus.

But I mean, Joe Rogan said none of it mattered as long as you boofed enough ivermectin and creatine, or something.

I could give a shit less about Phoenix or what he said here. As long as I've forced him to look up what boofing is, I've achieved my mission.

Based on all previous evidence he's provided, that's a bad assumption. Sorry, your mission failed

Sadly he doesn't even read the posts he's responding to. He's not going to look up anything you wrote.

Its okay guys, she's technically correct!

"U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst posted a sarcastic apology video following a viral moment when she told a town hall audience member that "we all are going to die" in response to concerns over Medicaid cuts.
....
"I made an incorrect assumption that everyone in the auditorium understood that yes, we are all going to perish from this Earth," she said. "So I apologize. And I’m really, really glad that I did not have to bring up the subject of the tooth fairy as well.

"But for those that would like to see eternal and everlasting life, I encourage you to embrace my lord and savior, Jesus Christ," she added."

What an arsehole.
