The Elden Ring Movie is real.
The way this will be successful (besides the obvious surface details of visually intriguing locations and characters) is diving deeper into the lore. Like, spending an episode going into Godrick’s fetish for grafting human limbs to himself. Hopefully they consulted Vaati along with GRRM.

That hard swap into a screen-facing parry to finish Rellana was pretty tight -

I... I.... Well... I'm downgrading my status from "gamer" to "guy who occasionally fucks off and plays video games." What buff us he using that gives him 100% physical resistance while two-handing his weapon??

The Deflecting Hardtear physik makes the game kinda like Sekiro. Bonus is it stacks guard counter damage. Also has more forgiving timing than parries but it’s a finite resource (five minutes). Really most effective against bosses.

While a Dark Souls Rogue-like combo sounds interesting, the gameplay I've seen of Nightreign, it looks like it'd get boring really quickly.

That’s the thing about a lot of games, really. Hell, looking at most of Soulsborne gameplay in general has that effect, but somehow people still want to keep playing. Similar reason why some people vastly prefer mp games over sp, and vice versa.

That said, I’m in no hurry to play this; especially with a huge backlog that’s barely been touched yet.

Ok, I checked back and few pages, and this wasn't posted, so here you go: a really stupidly high-quality cinematic telling of the "story" of Queen Marika. I put story in quotes because it still makes absolutely no sense, but damned if it isn't captivating and beautiful. If the rumors of an Elden Ring movie are true, this is how it should be handled, but if I know Hollywood and the history of videogames that fail in screen adaptation, Elden Ring is basically impossible to adapt in any way close to the depth of lore to try to tackle. And given it's rabid success, expectations will be very high meaning it will have further to fall and fail. No, leave it to the fans like this.

People are already getting the platinum 100% trophy in the first night of play. Which suggest that not only is the content available easy, there isn't a lot of it. 5-10 hours for 100% achievements is quite low for a Rogue-like which usually take 100s of hours due to RNG. This being so short means you aren't getting a lot of content in this game at all.

I think it's really telling that my friends list on Steam is absolutely full of From Software marks, and yet none of them is playing Nightreign today, including me.

I'm waiting at least 2 months for them to add quality of life features, fix the balancing, and add a 2 player mode before I touch this thing.

I still can't believe they actually launched it without a 2 player option.

And I thought Consort Radahn would be the apex of FROM’s ever increasing “difficultly for difficulty’s sake” bs. Starting to think Miyazaki’s lost the script regardless of being director.

I thought he didn't have anything to do with this game though. He's been doing the Bloodborne 2 on Switch thing.
Yeah but he must still be approving whatever’s put out, kinda like Kojima. A part of the problem is I think the formula has gone on so long that they’ve drawn themselves into a corner on the whole difficulty thing. More, more, more. What makes matters worse is he’s gone on record saying he sucks at these games, so odds are he’s not even finishing them himself; he’s just taking someone else’s word for it on the team, who’s probably saying, “Yeah, this is what they want!”

I dont think he needs his fingers in every pie the company makes. Some bosses do but not all of them and miyazaki always struck me as a little lazy so I wouldn't be shocked if he just left this to a small team and let whatever happen.

I will remind people that Elden Ring wasn't that hard, with many items capable of 1 shoting almost every boss in the game. The problem Fromsoft game have developed is that they are TOO hard if you dont use cheese.
