I know I've said I don't understand "schadenfreude," but as someone who can't help but click on any "first time playing Dark Souls" video... I know exactly what the joy of schadenfreude feels like. I started this guy's videos a few days ago, and they're gold. Objectively quality videos, but as many claim to be playing blind and not looking at guides, I'm more convinced he was genuine than most I've seen, as evidenced by my screaming at my screen following some of the blind decisions he makes. Either it's expert-level trolling, or he truly has no idea what he's doing. Still, he manages pretty well, learns from his mistakes, and makes progress at an impressive pace. He also eagerly reads the description of everything he picks up which I imagine is what Miyazaki envisioned when he hid 99% of he context in there.
But my favorite part of every "first time" playthrough is The Archers, and my guy did not disappoint. The first video is timestamped at his first attempt; the second is timestamped at the failure montage that had me pissing myself laughing (schadenfreude.)
EDIT: I about had a baby when my dude ran past the bonfire a the 2:05:50 mark...
