been saying this for ages also, is relieving to see others approach it cos people need to understand the grim reality ahead and not hide their heads in the sand just cos it makes them feel bad. cos that bad shit ain't getting better, it ain't getting bored and wandering off, it's there because it benefits the people with the most resources and monopoly on resource extraction...and as long as it keeps doing that it will only remain as the rot grows and spreads. As the climate gets worse and worse it will be the majority who are expected to throw their worthless bodies to the boiling seas while the wealthy expand their prepper bunkers and fill them with more supplies and trinkets

Ever read the story Three Worlds Collide? There's a part where the returning human ship uses a prediction market with a wildly unlikely scenario and a large investment from them as a warning message that people will actually pay attention to.
If you haven't, it's a sci fi story about first contact with two different alien species who are very, very nonhuman. And later you get it pointed out how different distant future humanity is from what you're familiar with, in case you'd missed the obvious but not quite as in your face hints previously. Eight chapters, pretty good.
It's not really a day of remembrance either, it's a partisan, conservative, recruitment event.

And while I hate to sound like those far right nutjubs I can't deny that I feel our own continent comes first. I don't fear anything those migrant themselves will break as much as I fear it will prompt such hysteria in us locals that the social framework collapses and that the fascist will rise on top and destroy everything good about the continent. And if preventing that means not accepting the climate migrants then I think that sucks, but I'd rather have Europe remain standing.
As for the rest of what you're saying. I think its over. Climate change and environmental collapse are unavoidable and the rich have already prepped for their own safety, and will let the rest of us foot the bill. This was a fight between the public and the ultra rich, and the ultra rich have achieved complete victory.
Problem is that there's not a way around his fear that Europe won't accept migrant refugees. Public and political are real resources that can and do run out. The panic about migration is mostly artificial but its undeniable already stretching European society to the breaking point right now. If society can't even handle the topic of migration when migration is relatively stable then much greater climate migration is going to prompt mass hysteria. And if politics doesn't cave to this hysteria to some extend it will lead to Europe falling to fascism.

What's the funniest event in anti woke world is that Wilders is somehow more reasonable on the topic than the VVD. I don't trust he's sincere but Wilders did the bare minimum by condemning the riots. To be fair the VVD did too, but also loudly said that far right freaks shouting political slogans and attacking the office of a political party actually isn't political, and that people shouldn't ''make'' it so.
It's a PR stunt that one party felt compelled to agree to because being portrayed as metaphorically urinating over the corpse of a murdered man would look worse.
The Democratic Party has near infinite PR power. If they could even pretend it was just a recruitment vehicle for Republicans, you can rest assured that they'd vote against it while every headline you choose to trust tells you why they were virtuous to do so.
